The storm continued to rage outside, the heavy rain drumming against the windows of Shadow and Perci's home. Inside, the gang was attempting to occupy themselves, but the tension was palpable, especially as the minutes dragged on with no sign of the weather clearing up.

In a moment of sheer mischief, Knuckles decided to sneak over to the fridge, his eyes lighting up at the sight of a box labeled Shadow's Cookies. The heavenly scent wafted out as he opened the fridge door, making his stomach rumble. "Hell yeah!" he exclaimed, his mouth watering as he grabbed the entire box. "These are gonna be so good."

Meanwhile, Shadow had gotten up to grab some cookies for himself and Perci. He was feeling generous after the earlier chaos and wanted to treat her. As he made his way to the fridge, he noticed the door was slightly ajar. A sinking feeling settled in his stomach.

"What the hell?" he muttered under his breath, opening the fridge fully.

His heart dropped when he saw the box was empty. "No."

With an annoyed growl, he spun around, spotting Knuckles on the couch, already diving into the cookies, Sonic right beside him, shoving one in his mouth. "You've got to be kidding me!"

"Hey, don't look at me!" Sonic laughed, crumbs flying as he grinned. "I'm just enjoying the spoils of war. Thanks for sharing, Knuck!"

Shadow's eyes blazed with fury as he marched over, fists clenching at his sides. "Those were my cookies, you idiots! I was saving them!"

Knuckles shrugged, a mouthful of cookie preventing him from responding clearly. "Sorry, dude. They were just sitting there, calling my name!"

"Yeah, my name, too!" Shadow shot back, irritation flooding his voice. "You think I made those for you?"

As Knuckles laughed and continued to munch away, Shadow realized he was not going to get any cookies. With a frustrated huff, he turned away, grabbing a soda from the fridge instead. "Great. Just what I wanted—soda."

"Whoa, what's with the attitude?" Sonic piped up, eyeing Shadow suspiciously. "It's just a cookie, man!"

Shadow glared at Sonic as he cracked open the soda, the sound echoing in the tense room. "You have no idea how hard it is to make those cookies. They're not just for anyone!"

He tossed the remote at Perci, who was still cuddled up under the blanket. "Put on a movie or something," he grumbled, avoiding eye contact.

Perci caught the remote with a smile, though she could sense Shadow's frustration. "Sure, Shady. Let me find something good!"

"Why does she get to watch TV?" Sonic whined, crossing his arms and shooting a pointed glare at Shadow. "It's not fair!"

"Can you just chill for once?" Amy exclaimed, waving her arms in an attempt to calm Sonic down. "Shadow's already on edge. Do you want him to explode?"

"I'm not going to explode!" Shadow snapped, though the edge in his voice suggested otherwise. He felt as if the whole world was out to get him—first the cookies, then Sonic's incessant whining.

"Seriously, Sonic," Tails added, trying to defuse the situation. "Just let Perci pick something."

"Yeah, Sonic. Just relax!" Knuckles said, digging into the remaining cookies like a pig in a trough. "Besides, these cookies are amazing!"

Shadow could feel the rage bubbling up inside him. He was running on fumes, and with each bite Knuckles took, his frustration only grew. "You two have no idea what it's like to have something special taken away from you," he growled, gripping the soda can tightly as if it were a lifeline.

Finally, Perci found a movie and turned it on. The soothing sound of the opening credits filled the room, providing a brief distraction from the chaos. She leaned against Shadow, trying to calm him. "It's okay, Shady. We can find more cookies tomorrow."

"Tomorrow doesn't help me now!" he snapped back, glaring at the screen, trying to focus on the movie instead of the cookie catastrophe unfolding.

The group fell silent, the sound of the film taking over as they settled in, but the tension in the room remained thick. Shadow could feel his anger simmering beneath the surface.

"Damn it, I should have just eaten them all myself," he grumbled under his breath.

"Not if Knuckles got to them first!" Sonic quipped, a smirk on his face.

Shadow shot him a warning glare, ready to retort when suddenly a loud clap of thunder echoed through the house, causing everyone to jump.

"Great, just great," he muttered, rolling his eyes as he tried to rein in his frustration. "This day just keeps getting better and better."

Perci snuggled closer, whispering softly, "I'll make it up to you, Shady. We can bake together tomorrow."

Shadow finally relaxed a fraction, the warmth of her words easing his frustration. "Fine, but I'm putting you in charge of the cookies next time."

"Deal," she replied with a grin, and for the first time that evening, Shadow felt a little lighter amidst the chaos.

But in the back of his mind, he knew this wouldn't be the last of Sonic and Knuckles' antics. And as long as they were around, there would always be trouble.
