The four made their way to their fathers home, catching a couple buses. Lila and Five had went off to grab somethings from the grocery store while Y/n and Diego waited for their last bus.

Diego looked at Y/n "Y/n, I'm. . . sorry about before. I didn't really mean it."

Y/n, who had folded arms, pursed her lips "I'm sorry I don't appreciate how hard you work for the family."

Diego looked at her "You know, if you want to get out, you could go to an actual book club. I know how much you loved reading when we were little."

Y/n thought for a moment "Maybe. Or I could get a job when the twins finally go to school."

Diego nodded "Alright. What would you want to do?"

Y/n shrugged "I don't know. Work at a bar?"

Diego chuckled "Seems you always end up there, huh?"

Y/n shrugged again. The two leaned against the wall near the bus stop. Y/n looked down at the floor as she thought hard about everything.

The four make it to their fathers home, a guard trying to stop them. They shoved past him and went up to meet the others.

Diego held the fomder in his hand as he said "Hey! We gotta talk about Ben."

After a moment, Lila, Five and Y/n got themselves settled down in the room and Diego began to speak while pacing slightly, pointing at the file in his hand.

"In Moldovan. From Moldova. And it's mostly redacted." He gave the file to Allison so that the others could see.

"Oh great. So we can't read it, or see it." Allison said as she looked at the file.

"From what I can tell, this document is from our original timeline." Five told them as he stood next to Y/n, who was placed next to Allison "It explains how Ben died. It refers to it as the 'Jennifer Incident."

"We already know how Ben died." Luther said with an obvious tone.

Five slipped his hands into his pockets "Okay, then. Tell us."

"Well. . ." Luther spoke "It was a tragic accident. Ben, our Ben, died because we failed as a team. Nobody was responsible, and. . ."

Five tilts his head "And what?" Luther paused with a frown "Allison, how did Ben die?"

"It was a tragic accident." She replied "Ben died because-"

"We failed as a team." The rest, apart from Viktor, Five and Lila, joined in "Nobody was responsible, yet we were all responsible. Ben Hargreeves represented the best of us. Ben was the Umbrella Academy."

Luther's jaw was practically on the floor as Lila looked at Reginald "What kind of sick party trick is this?"

"Okay, can any one of you remember how Ben actually died?" Five asked again. They all stayed quiet, making Five look at them all "Anything?"

Viktor shrugged "I. . . I wasn't there."

"Neither was I." Five said "But the rest of you were. You think you'd remember something about the death of our beloved brother, but you don't."

"What the hell is going on here?" Luther spoke, hand to his head.

"Isn't it obvious?" Five turned to Reginald "Someone's been playing putty with your hippocampus."

Y/n also turned to their father "Messing with our memories."

The rest of them all turn to look at him aswell, their jaws dropped.

"As fascinating as this may be, I assure you I haven't the foggiest notion of what this is about." Reginald said, looking around at them all.

Diego walked arohnd to stand next to Lila, who was inbetween Reginald and his wife, Abigail, as he spoke "You know something, old man."

Reginald looked up at him from his seat "You are speculating about the actions of a completely different version of myself from a completely different timeline. That said, it does sound like something I might do." Reginald nods.

Allison slammed down the file as everyone huffed in annoyance, Allison speaking with annoyance in her tone "Oh, here we go."

"There may or may not have been a certain clandestine project with a certain clandestine intelligence agency." Reginald told them.

"Humab experiments on the mind." Five clarified "I should've known."

"Psychological warfare was all the rage in the 60s, but it was only a brief contract." Reginald said "Immensely lucrative."

"So you can erase memories?" Luther asked, a slight annoyance in his voice.

"With the human mind, anything is possible, young man." Reginald said, turning to look at Luther.

"If you can erase them, you can restore them, right?" Lila suggested.

Reginald nodded "With the proper technology."

"Which you have?" Y/n folded her arms as she asked.

"Naturally." Reginald spoke obviously "It's on this building somewhere."

"Alright, old man." Five looked around a moment before looking at Reginald again "You're gonna put 'em back, each and every memory to do with Ben's death. Because if you erased the Jennifer Incident, that means there was something important enough that you'd take the time to get rid of it." Five explained.

"I will do no such thing!" Reginald insisted "Right now, we need to track the girl before it's too late."

"Reggie, please." Abigail finally spoke, grabbing Reginald's hand.

"Darling, this is messy work. It could take hours, days." Reginald said.

"Whatever chain of events set this in motion is ultimately your handiwork." Abigail reminded "Whatever timeline it happened in, help them. Please."
