"Wah! S-Stop-!!!"

Bang! Bang! Bang!

"Ouch! Right in the forehead, Midori?!"

Bang!

"AGHHH!! I SAID STOP SHOOTING ME! I'M YOUR OLDER SISTER, YOU BRAT!"

Thirty minutes had passed since the battle began, and in that time, Momoi and Midori had found themselves on opposite sides of the fight.

Midori stood firm, even against her own sister. Her resolve burned fiercely, pushing her forward without hesitation. But the same couldn't be said for Momoi--- who, from the moment their eyes met, refused to raise her gun against her younger sister.

"Why are you even here if you're not prepared to fight, big sis?" Midori's voice was cold, her expression unreadable. "Go somewhere else if you're just going to mess around like always."

Momoi flinched. That glare... it was sharp, piercing, unrelenting. Midori had never looked at her like that before. It sent a shiver down her spine, making her stomach twist with unease.

"I'm not messing around!" Momoi snapped back, gripping her weapon tighter. "Can't you see how worried I am about you?! I'm here to look after you!"

"I don't need you to look after me! Can't you see I'm fighting for my own future?! We're on opposite sides of the coin, and we have to fight to prove our resolve!"

"Why do we have to fight just to prove who's right?!" Momoi shot back, frustration cracking through her voice. "You're my younger sister, for crying out loud!"

Desperation bled into Momoi's words, and even Midori could see it--- the trembling in her voice, the raw emotion spilling out. Momoi had always been the older sister, but she had never quite acted like one. More often than not, it was Midori who ended up looking after her instead.

And yet, Midori never resented it. She loved Momoi's carefree, childish nature. That was what made her who she was.

"...I confessed to Sensei, big sis."

"H-Huh...?"

It was too sudden.

It came without warning.

Momoi stood frozen, eyes wide in shock. She had always known how deeply Midori cared for Sensei--- it was the very reason she believed her sister would never allow him to leave Kivotos.

But now, hearing those words, she finally understood. She saw the root of Midori's decision.

The reason she was able to let go of Sensei...

It was because---

"And I was rejected, as expected."

Because Midori no longer had any regrets.

"Midori..."

Momoi's voice wavered, but Midori only smiled... a calm, resolute smile that carried no trace of bitterness.

"That's why... I'm asking you now, big sis."

Slowly, Midori raised her gun once more, this time pointing it directly at Momoi.

"If you don't want to insult the resolve I've built up for this very moment..."

Her grip tightened.

"Then pick up your weapon and prove it to me--- prove that your love for Sensei is greater than mine."

An hour had passed since the clash of ideals began.

"Misono Mika of Trinity is on a rampage! In just a short time, she's already taken down approximately 30% of our students! We need one of our frontliners to deal with her immediately, Miss Ako!"
