Ryūnosuke Tanaka was known for his explosive personality and relentless energy on the Karasuno volleyball team. As an outside hitter, he had a reputation for being loud, passionate, and fiercely competitive. However, despite his boisterous nature, there was a side to him that few got to see—his softer, more vulnerable moments. That side was often brought out when he was around Kiko Iwasaki, Iwaizumi's younger cousin.

Kiko was the complete opposite of Tanaka. With a calm demeanor and a love for music, she was often found with her guitar, strumming melodies that seemed to capture the essence of her soul. She had a gentle spirit that drew people in, and her shy smile could brighten anyone's day. Though Tanaka's personality often clashed with her tranquil nature, he found himself inexplicably attracted to her.

An Unexpected Collaboration

It was a typical afternoon at Karasuno High, and Tanaka was bouncing off the walls after a grueling practice. As he left the gym, he spotted Kiko sitting on a bench under a cherry blossom tree, lost in her music. The gentle strumming of her guitar seemed to harmonize with the soft rustling of the leaves, creating an atmosphere that was both calming and inviting.

"Hey, Kiko! What are you playing?" he called out, unable to contain his excitement.

Kiko looked up, her eyes sparkling as she smiled. "Just a little something I wrote. Do you want to hear it?"

"Absolutely!" Tanaka said, plopping down next to her. He loved how her music had a way of soothing his chaotic energy.

Kiko nodded, taking a deep breath as she began to play. The melody flowed effortlessly from her fingers, and Tanaka found himself mesmerized. As the final note lingered in the air, he clapped enthusiastically. "That was amazing! You're so talented!"

Kiko blushed, her cheeks turning a light pink. "Thank you, but it's just a hobby."

"A hobby? You should perform! You'd be great!" Tanaka insisted, his excitement palpable.

"Maybe someday," she replied softly, looking down at her guitar. "But I'm not really confident in front of large crowds."

"Come on, it's just like playing in front of a volleyball team! You can do it!" he encouraged, his eyes bright with enthusiasm.

Kiko chuckled, shaking her head. "That's different! You all are used to cheering for each other. I don't think I could handle being in the spotlight like that."

"Then let me help you!" Tanaka declared, his determination shining through. "How about we team up? You teach me how to play the guitar, and I'll help you build your confidence. We can even perform together!"

Kiko looked at him, surprised by his suggestion. "You really want to do that?"

"Of course! I can't promise I'll be good, but I'll give it my all!" Tanaka said, grinning widely.

A New Practice Routine

Over the next few weeks, Tanaka and Kiko spent their afternoons together. They would meet under the cherry blossom tree, where Kiko would teach him the basics of guitar while Tanaka shared his volleyball skills and techniques. Their practice sessions often turned into laughter-filled moments, with Tanaka's clumsy attempts at playing the guitar leading to more fun than actual progress.

"Okay, let's try that chord again," Kiko said, patiently guiding him.

Tanaka strummed the guitar, a look of concentration on his face. "Like this?" he asked, producing a sound that was less melodic and more akin to a cat screeching.

Kiko burst into laughter, and Tanaka couldn't help but join in. "Maybe I should stick to volleyball," he joked, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

"You'll get it! Just keep practicing," she encouraged, her smile reassuring.
