"You're a lawyer but you know how to do this." He said while I straddled him. The only way that he would let me help him was if I was sitting on his lap and his hands were on my waist. Dom hit him real bad since his cheek has a cut and he has another set of bruises on the other one.
I am livid at Dom for hitting my darling but then when I saw him before I took Elijah to my office, the motherfúcker was bleeding and the only one who could attend him was Yamsuan, but somehow, Dom couldn't keep his eyes off of Mela—short of Maria Elenna Delos Valles - Montejo —- an eighteen year old tourism student and who also happened to be Madame President Delos Valles' youngest daughter.
I knew the girl since in the past since despite her interest in tourism, she likes being involved in the community, especially kapag panahon ng sakuna, walang kaarte-arte iyon na lumusong sa baha at magbahagi ng tulong. She's a textbook good girl. Mahinhin, super shy, and very pretty just like her mother. She has some resemblance with that character from the show 'Money Heist' who played the school girl, Alison Parker. Except Mela has shiny and long black curly hair, freckled cheeks, and she wears glasses sometimes.
"I'm friends with Nacho who used to be a...street pharmacist. I got him out of prison in exchange for his statement. A lot of his former friends were not very happy because to them, Nacho changing his life and him telling the police all about the tricks and the names in the Metro's drug trade is a sign of betrayal." I replied while I was dabbing a cotton with cleanser on his open wound. He wasn't even flinching, his green eyes solely switching back and forth from my lips and my eyes.
I grabbed some steristrips and started closing the cut.
"For a couple of months after I won his case, he would get jumped by random guys—as in he would be beaten up, kicked, and even stabbed at one point because of his betrayal to them. I learned to care for him since he didn't want to go to the hospital because if he does, he will have to file a police report and then those former friends would get even more mad at him. I was opposed to it but at the same time I get where he was coming from....and so I went along, I became his pretend nurse for a while until I put away the same people who hurt him...I care a lot because he's like the brother I've never had." I smiled softly.
He nodded.
"Now, speaking of brothers, why in the world were do you doing a UFC fight in the middle of the basketball court—"
"---ow, baby!" He exclaimed when I pressed the adhesive on his cut a little too hard. I felt bad but I wanted to understand why suddenly, I saw students in the hallway rushing to go to the basketball court because apparently, there had been a fight going on and that they should watch and take videos.
I quickly made my way there because my initial instinct as an educator is to break up the fight, but to my surprise it was between a very much grown man named Dominic Pierceton and my own man, Elijah Pierceton, bloodied and panting laying on the polished floor.
"Why did you beat each other up again?"
"Brother things." He shrugged. "Now, kiss me, it hurts please baby.." He pouted, I glared at him.
"Okay, pacman. There is this thing called communication instead of fist fights.. Have you ever heard of that?" Sarkastiko kong tanong. He leaned in and chased my lips instead, he gave me two pecks bago niya iyon pinalalim pa. His hand caressing my thigh, he couldn't feel my bare skin because I was wearing a pantsuit today.
"Dominic told me that I need to stay away from you," He whispered against my tingling lips. "...and If I used my words, I would've cussed him out and the rest of his future bloodline." He added as he looked at me with those now hooded green eyes.
Natahimik ako habang kumakabog ang dibdib ko.
I wanted to roll my eyes whenever I heard his name. I used to like Dom, respected him, even. He does a very good job of being an Ambassador for his country, but now that he dangles the visa and my mom's location right in front of my face in exchange for me leaving his brother, Dom's name and voice sounds like a fork grinding on a plate.
I hate him so much.
"I could never stay away from you.." He cupped my cheek, his green eyes gleaming with sincerity.
My heart hurts. I knew what I needed to do but....
I took a deep breath. I laid the rest of the wound care supplies on his side.
"I know, darling.." I whispered softly as I cupped his face for a moment before I started getting up.
"Where are you going?" Tanong niya nang tumayo ako at naglakad patungo sa desk ko. I took two paper bags from under my desk and smiled as I walked up to him. When I sat back on his lap, I placed the bags beside him and took out a big jewelry box from one of the bags.
Bahagyang namang nanlaki ang kanyang mga mata nang makita niya 'yung logo na nakaukit sa box.
"Johnny Dang? The famous celebrity jeweler in Texas?"
I smiled and nodded.
"You know how you would blast your gangster rap songs in my house when you're working out or when we're doing stuff,"
He hummed as he looked me in the eye.
" I would hear his name being mentioned a lot of times, and so I looked him up on the internet and I saw that he makes jewellery for your favorite American rappers." I tapped his cheek.
"Y-You noticed it." His voice croaked.
"Yes, and decided to have him ship a couple of things to me."
I handed him the box and when he opened it, a shiny, diamond with white gold cuban bust down chain greeted his vision and his eyes widened.
"This is expensive.." He murmured as he slowly took it out from the box.
I chuckled softly as I put the box back in the bag.
"How much was it?"
It was around eleven million in our money but he didn't need to know that.
"Darling, you don't need to worry about that. You saw my firm and you just said that I'm a lawyer." Nagbibiro ko pang sabi.
"You're my sugar mommy, then?"
I glared at him.
"Oh, shut up." Pabiro kong pinalo ang kanyang braso.
He chuckled and kissed my cheek.
"Let me put it on you." I said and I took the heavy chain from him and put it around his neck. It looked really good on him, mas lalo pa siyang naging hot.
"Now this," I grabbed another box and when he opened it, there's a matching tennis bracelet with his chain. When he looked closely there was an etching that spelled out 'darling'.
"And this one isn't as expensive," I said as I grabbed the small ring box from the last bag. "But it's called a Darry Ring and each person is only allowed to buy one in their lifetime," Napalunok ako. "a-and I am choosing it to buy a promise ring for you, darling." I opened the small box and the same diamond and white gold band met his eyes.
His green orbs glisten.
"...I need you to know that whatever I do it would be because I love you, okay?" I slid the ring on his finger the same way he did when he gave me his late mother's ring.
Kumunot ang noo niya.
"What are you talking about, baby?"
I shook my head and smiled, hoping that the tears glistening in my eyes were not showing.
"I just need you to know that you would be the only one, the only man that I would ever love. I-I just wanted you to know, okay?" I pushed another smile and leaned in to kiss him. I can sense that he had a lot of questions, but chose to passionately kiss me back instead.
