"I haven't seen your beauty for thirty years and you greet me with slaps? It's okay because it is better than nothing."
"You're an idiot, Holt Maxwell Wencezlao! I saw the article, what mistakes are you talking about and what do you mean by "forced her"?! What else have you done to our daughter, Holt?! You promised me that you will take care of her!" I heard my mother yell at my father just outside the door.
"You begged me to keep her, I did because you said you will love and take care of her. You knew that I didn't want her because I was afraid to hurt her! What the hell have you done?!"
"Kirsten, baby please listen—"
"Don't do that."
"Why? Does it still make you feel the same way, hm, baby?"
Nacho and I exchanged looks like naughty little kids eavesdropping on my parents. My parents are right outside the door of the event's room. My darling and Dominic has already taken their father to the Michelin rated restaurant on the rooftop of this hotel. They had to redirect Mr. Pierceton while my parents work their own stuff out.
As what nacho said, Siri, play Family Affair by Mary J. Blige.
"Girl, ang landi ng Tatay mo. Alam ko na ngayon kung kanino ka nagmana."
I gagged, he made a face.
"Holt Maxwell Wencezlao, that is not gonna work anymore—"
"----Do you remember the time I would tell you to say my name while I am tongue deep—-"
Parehong umawang ang mga labi namin ni Nacho. We both made faces of disgust.
"Holt, don't."
And then I heard her heels clicking away while I heard my father's footsteps following her.

When my parents walked into the high-end restaurant, we were all already sitting around the square wooden table, eating our appetizers. This boujie resto has everything that you'd expect from a place that has a salad with crushed 24k gold leaf on top. The place is surrounded by glass walls, there's soft jazz music playing in the background, attentive waiters, a clothed table with candles and lantern-like chandeliers that softly lit the place.
Despite the dim lighting, I saw my mother giving my father a subtle angry glances, meanwhile my father seemed.....happy. He was even smirking as he sat beside me.
"Sorry, family affairs." My father said to us, When I glanced down, I quickly looked up because I noticed his zipper. I leaned closer to him and whispered,
"Father, your zipper's down—--oh, my god." I stopped and distanced myself from my father. He discreetly pulled it up and that was also the same time I looked at my mother right across the table. It was subtle but I noticed that her dress was crumpled and her blonde hair was out of place.
Oh, my god, did my parents have a quickie???????
I pinched the bridge of my nose and gave them a 'are-you-kidding-me-?' look.
"I needed to pee." My father said and I just shook my head in disbelief.
"So..." Dom cleared his throat, meanwhile Elijah casually sat beside me while peeling off the skin from the fried chicken I ordered for appetizer. I wanted the crispy skin so bad and so, my darling is individually peeling it off from the chicken thigh and breasts and would put it on my plate.
