Scenario: Jae and Jungkook may be the insufferable couple on the internet however, they may be disgustingly in love but back when they first met, they were not even close to being this in love. In fact, some would go on and say they were insufferably rivaling each other.

Oh, where to begin?

Well, there are a lot of areas to talk about this couple, but one of the biggest things that anyone will tell you about them, is that they are an insufferably cute, disgustingly in love couple. However, it wasn't always like that from the beginning. Believe it or not, these two had a rivalry beginning, that had the entire media on its high horses.

And honestly, it was very amusing for both the media and their fanbases. It became a running joke between the fan bases and even both Jae and Jungkook found it amusing whenever it was brought up.

So why don't we go back in time and see how these two boys met...

2017; The Golden Disc Awards

The award show was at its peak, and the room buzzed with the energy of idols, celebrities, and flashing lights. For Jae, BLACKPINK's magnetic rapper, it was just another event. He sat casually at a table with his members, dressed in a sharp black tuxedo, surrounded by fans.

Fresh off a new debut, Jae has made the internet go crazy for him, in less of a year. His incredible dashing looks, charismatic presence, dynamic rapping, alluring dancing skills and captivating voice. There are many things to like about Jae and yet, Jungkook of BTS can't find that many.

It's not that he hates Jae, it's just that he finds him rather annoying for some reason. Jae doesn't know why Jungkook doesn't like him, even though they've never formally met. The rapper couldn't help but continue this cat and mouse game. With this, a small rivalry was set between them. Jae wasn't sure when this little game had started, but lately, nothing was more entertaining than seeing the usually calm and composed Jungkook lose his cool.

Right now, Jae was seated with his members and just across from their table, BTS were seated and Jeon Jungkook was currently sporting a glare, directed towards Jae. Anytime either BTS or Blackpink are mentioned, Jae and Jungkook would glance at one another. Jungkook glaring at Jae while Jae just smirked at him, a mocking glint in his eyes.

Consistently, both Blackpink and BTS have the same amount of nominations.

Whenever Blackpink won an award, Jae would smirk at Jungkook, blowing him a mocking kiss, causing Jungkook to grunt and glare at Jae. Whenever BTS won an award, Jungkook would smile smugly at Jae, who would smirk, sending the younger a wink, causing Jungkook to blush, however he doesn't know why.

After the awards were done, all the groups had gone backstage ready to go home and rest. Jungkook was currently walking out of the bathroom, ready to leave this place but he saw Jae leaning against the wall, eyes glued to the phone.

Although Jungkook found Jae annoying, he couldn't help but admire his beauty. His blonde hair was now messy and ruffled, layed beautifully over his forehead, his face was v-shaped with his almond-shaped piercing eyes, his lips were pouty and looked so kissable, especially with the mole under his bottom lip. Jungkook just wants to constantly kiss it. His cheeks were a rosy pink, so soft, the younger wondered about the older's skin care routine, they must be so soft. And his jawline, oh, the jawline. It looked so sharp like a knife, the vocalist wondered if he would cut his finger if he were to lace over it.

"You know for someone who doesn't like me, you sure can't take your eyes off me," A voice said, causing Jungkook to snap out of his daze. Jae now stood in front of him, arms crossed which conveniently show his stupidly muscular arms, considering his sleeves are rolled up to his elbows. And he is standing way too close for Jungkook's liking (or maybe he does like it).

Jungkook just rolled his eyes, "What do you want?" He ignored the question, although he couldn't help the blush that took over his cheeks when trying to make eye contact with Jae.

Jae hummed, smirking, "Just your company, Kookie. Is that so bad?" Jae's tone was soft, almost flirtatious, as he nudged Jungkook's shoulder with his own.

Jungkook bit his lip, trying to hide the fact that he was flushed, "Why do you keep calling me that?"

Jae smirked, moving even closer until their shoulders were practically touching. "Because it's cute. And it gets to you."

Jungkook huffed, trying to stay unfazed, but Jae could see the light blush creeping up his neck. Jae was relentless.

"You know," Jae said, turning slightly so he was fully facing Jungkook, "if you keep acting like this, people are going to think you have a crush on me."

Jungkook nearly choked on his drink. "What?!" His reaction was immediate, eyes wide as he looked at Jae.

Jae's grin was wicked. "You heard me."

Jungkook shook his head, trying to regain his composure. "You're unbelievable."

"And yet," Jae leaned in, his lips almost brushing against Jungkook's ear, "you still haven't walked away."

Jungkook froze, his breath catching as Jae's words sank in. He had every opportunity to walk away, to end this little game, but he didn't. He couldn't. Despite everything, he was drawn to Jae, to the rivalry, to the teasing, to him.

And Jae knew it.

With a final, triumphant smile, Jae stepped back, giving Jungkook one last playful look as he winked at him. "See you around, Kookie."

Jungkook watched him go, heart racing and mind spinning. As Jae walked away, Jungkook realized something: this wasn't just rivalry anymore. There was something deeper, something undeniable pulling them together.

And for the first time that night, Jungkook couldn't help the giddy smile that took over his face with a soft, pink, red blush spreading over his cheeks.

And a year later, with endless teasing and shameless filtering on Jae's end, Jungkook worked up the courage to ask Jae on a date. With a lot of teasing, Jae accepted the date with the intention of continuing to tease the younger, until he was a blushing mess. The date was overall loving, romantic and cute. (Well, besides, the really heavy make out session in Jae's dorm after) But overall, it was romantic.

And almost six years later, Jae and Jungkook are now known to be the most insufferable and disgustingly in love couple.

Who would've thought that two rivals would end up falling in love?

(And no, Jungkook did not cry when Jae asked him to be his boyfriend after the third date...)
