Keith woke up from a nightmare, covered in sweat. He sat up and looked around his dark bedroom. Lance was fast asleep next to him, his mouth open slightly, drool running down the side of his mouth."Lance?" Keith whispered and put his hand on Lance's shoulder.
Lance mumbled something incoherent before rolling over to face the other way.
"Lance?" Keith tried again, shaking Lance slightly.
"What's wrong?" Lance mumbled.
He sat up to look at Keith, rubbing his eyes. Keith used his thumb to wipe away Lance's leftover drool and sighed.
"I had a nightmare," Keith said and dropped his hands into his lap.
Lance stayed silent before yawning. He nodded and wrapped his arms around Keith, pulling him closer.
"Do you need anything?" Lance asked, his voice scratchy from the sleep.
"I'm..not sure."
"You want some water?" Lance asked, resting his head on Keith's shoulder as he hugged him.
Keith blinked before gently pushing Lance off of him. Lance stared at Keith as Keith shook his head.
"I'm sorry I woke you up."
"Don't be sorry, it's what I'm here for. Do you feel nauseous at all?" Lance asked as he placed the back of his hand against Keith's forehead.
Lance frowned as Keith closed his eyes, leaning into Lance's cold hand. Lance hummed before pressing a gentle kiss to Keith's head.
"I'm going to go get you some water," Lance said as he stood up.
Lance slid his blue lion slippers onto his feet and headed downstairs to the kitchen. He grabbed a water bottle out of the fridge before heading back upstairs to give it to Keith.
"I'm cold," Keith mumbled as he cracked open his eyes to look at Lance.
"You're burning up," Lance said and opened the bottle for Keith.
The raven haired male took a sip before sighing. Lance smiled softly and got back into the bed where he laid down and watched Keith. Keith remained sitting and closed the bottle, glancing down at Lance who had his hand on Keith's leg, rubbing circles absentmindedly in the soft fabric of Keith's pajama pants.
"I feel bad for waking you up."
"Why? I'll always be here for you. Even if you don't want me to," Lance said softly.
Keith hummed and set the water bottle down on his nightstand before lying back down next to Lance. He tucked his head under Lance's chin as Lance wrapped his arms around him.
"Get some rest ok?"
That was the last thing Keith heard before he drifted off to sleep.
-
Lance woke up the next morning to see Keith sitting up, his back against the headboard, and playing on his phone.
"What time is it?" Lance mumbled, reaching up to rub his eyes.
"4 o'clock," Keith replied, looking down at Lance and setting his phone aside.
"In the morning?" Lance said, putting his face into his pillow.
"No, in the afternoon," Keith lifted his hand to place it onto Lance's head but hesitated, putting his hand back into his lap.
"I slept all day?" Lance groaned.
"Yeah," Keith said and fiddled with the edge of his shirt.
Lance laid there for a moment longer before deciding to sit up. He sat next to the other male and rested his head on Keith's shoulder.
"Did you take your medicine?"
Keith nodded and picked up his phone again. He continued playing some puzzle game that Lance had never seen before.
The two sat in silence for a while before Lance decided he was hungry.
"Do you want something to eat?"
"Cereal," Keith said, blinking up at Lance who stood at the foot of the bed.
"Real food, Keith."
"Cereal is real food. It's low effort and delicious."
"Whatever you say, love," Lance sighed and rubbed his face before going downstairs.
Keith closed the game on his phone before standing up and deciding to put some actual clothes on so Shiro didn't yell at him for not being productive all day.
Lance came through the door, presenting two bowls of cereal. Lucky Charms and Frosted Flakes.
Keith slipped on his red hoodie before reaching out to grab the Lucky Charms. Lance pulled the bowl away and raised a brow at Keith.
"What? I don't get a thank you?"
"Lance, I'm sick. You'll catch whatever I have."
"I didn't ask. Do I not get a thank you?"
Keith rolled his eyes before pressing a gentle kiss to Lance's cheek. Lance smiled and handed the bowl of Lucky Charms to Keith before joining him on the bed.
"Did you want to do something this evening?"
"Isn't Shiro getting off of work soon?" Lance asked, his mouth full of cereal.
"He texted and said he would be coming home tomorrow night. Something about work needing him."
Lance hummed and finished his cereal before setting it on the nightstand. He laid back down and wrapped his arms around Keith's waist, resting his head on Keith's thigh.
Keith raised a brow at Lance. "You ok?"
"Yeah, why?" Lance mumbled, closing his eyes.
"You've just been super cuddly lately," Keith said, putting another spoonful of cereal in his mouth.
Lance didn't respond, he only shifted his body slightly to get more comfortable. Keith was honestly starting to become overwhelmed with the amount of touchiness from Lance lately. He wasn't sure how much longer he could put up with it.
"Lance?" Keith said, hoping to get his attention.
Lance was fast asleep, still holding on to Keith.
"Great.." Keith mumbled.
