After much effort, they didn't catch the sea serpent, but Mekei, Kaiser, Jun, and Kane successfully captured the ice giant.
Unfortunately it left Jun and Kane with wounds even Mekei couldn’t heal, he had to ask ceal and chaos to help while he and Kaiser regrouped with the sea serpent team,Winter, Blue, and Makoi. while Jin, who also got injured, remained at the mansion, getting healed up.
"So, how far are you guys with catching it?" Mekei asked Winter as they walked along the riverbank. He scanned the misty water, where the massive shadow of the serpent lurked deep beneath the surface.
Winter shrugged. "Well, Mekei, we discovered it hates fire."
Mekei raised an eyebrow, sensing Winter’s odd tone. "A lot of things hate fire. How is that a discovery?"
"I mean, it 𝒉𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔 fire. When Jin was here, he heated the water to try boiling it, but that only made it furious. Then, he tried throwing fireballs directly at it, but as soon as he did, it let out a deafening snarl and plunged into the depths."
Mekei nodded thoughtfully. "Well, then, let’s use fire."
Winter’s eyes narrowed. "Do you see Jin anywhere, Mekei?"
"Right… totally forgot about that," Mekei replied, chuckling at his mistake. "So what’s the plan?"
"Well, mekei, we’re going to trap it, then freeze it solid. That way, we can climb on its head and place the containment ball. That way, we can win without a fight."
Mekei’s face darkened as he studied Winter. "Are you okay?"
Makoi strolled over to tell the boys something.
"G-"
"I’m fine, Mekei,why’d you ask?" Winter answered before Makoi could speak.
"Are you positive? Like, two hundred percent sure?"
"Yes, I’m sure," Winter assured with a laugh, though his eyes didn’t quite meet Mekei’s.
"Maybe he asked because you're so weird looking," makoi insulted
"Shut up," Winter growled, nudging makoi away.
"Alright, winter if you're sure you're ok, I'll believe you," mekei said before walking away from both boys with an unpleased expression
"I don't get it," winter couldn't for the life of him know what mekei was talking about

"Hey, Mekei, you look a bit down. Is everything alright?" Kaiser asked as he walked over, noticing mekei tossing rocks into the river.
"I'm fine," Mekei replied, with his gaze fixed on the rippling water.
"But... I think something might be wrong with Winter." He skipped another stone, watching it disappear under the surface.
"Winter?" Kaiser repeated, raising an eyebrow.
"He seemed fine last time I saw him." He gently took hold of Mekei's wrist to stop him from throwing any more stones.
"...He's been acting strange," Mekei murmured, almost to himself.
Kaiser leaned in, his curiosity piqued. "What did he do?"
"𝙷𝚎 𝚜𝚝𝚘𝚙𝚙𝚎𝚍 𝚌𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚖𝚎 𝚙𝚛𝚒𝚗𝚌𝚎𝚜𝚜," Mekei whispered, his voice barely audible.
"He what?"
"He stopped calling me 'Princess'!" Mekei repeated, louder this time, his cheeks tinted pink
