While Devon and Katherine were off on their honeymoon in Japan, (Y/N) was off to find a job. It was the weekend, so she had plenty of time to search, a favorable position considering she had to travel quite far to get to certain place that piqued her interests. Devon did leave her a card of his to buy whatever necessities she may need while he and her mother were away for ten days, but (Y/N) wanted to make her own cash. She had been working a steady job before she moved, so she believed she would be able to find another just as suitable.

After printing out her resumes, she began her drive around town to see which jobs she could find.

Unfortunately, it seemed as if nothing looked to be available, and disheartened, (Y/N) pulled up in a small, 90's themed diner for a milkshake to ease the disappointment of the day. Fiddling with a straw wrapper as she nonchalantly sipped on her shake, blankly staring out the window at the dreary sky, she hardly noticed the figure slide into her booth.

"(Y/N)?"

"Huh?" She immediately snapped to attention at the sound of her name, blinking in puzzlement when seeing a familiar boy sitting in the seat opposite her. "Oh, Dante? What are you doing here?"

"I work here," Dante chuckled as he tapped the name pin snapped to his shirt.

It was only then did (Y/N) notice he was wearing an apron that looked to have seen its fair share of messes, a chuckle of her own leaving her lips at the sight. In all honesty, the sheer difference to how he looked now compared to how he looked at school was amusing to her, having to place the tips of her fingers against her mouth and look away to refrain from laughing out loud.

"What?" Dante gave a mock offended look. "Is something amusing to you?"

"A little bit," she hummed.

"Rude," he gave a fake scoff before his lips curved upwards into a smile. "Anyways, what're you doing here? You seemed to look... deep in thought."

"Oh, it's nothing," she shrugged.

"Doesn't seem to be nothing," he pointed out as he drummed his hands against the table. "Come on. We're friends. Tell me."

"Well... I was trying to look for a job, but, obviously you can see how that ended up," (Y/N) sighed as she took another long sip of her milkshake before continuing. "Every place I looked at wasn't hiring, and I'm not desperate or anything, but I enjoy working. It helps keep me busy and not feel super lazy or anything."
