(Y/N) marveled at the large penthouse apartment Devon brought her and Katherine to, her eyes widening with each feature that she caught sight of. Katherine, having already frequented Devon's apartment, merely chuckled at her daughter's reaction before walking over to a stack of boxes to begin unpacking.

After (Y/N) talked with Devon about how wary she was about moving, and after how he practically brushed her off in a roundabout way, she spent the last week spending as much time with Kane as she possibly could. He seemed to appreciate her actions, too, for he spent hours with her reminiscing about old times that either had them laughing out loud or brooding in thoughtful silence. Upon the day of her departure, she hugged Kane almost as tightly as he hugged her, seeming to be unwilling to part from her upon her last day with him.

It was a bittersweet farewell.

It was also a farewell she didn't think she'd ever had, but it happened regardless.

"Well?" Devon smiled down at her as he set a hand on her shoulder, his grip slightly tighter than absolutely necessary. "What do you think?"

"It's certainly... extravagant," she mumbled.

"Of course," he chuckled. "After all, it's only the best—something I prefer in anything I have."

"Right..."

(Y/N) watched as Devon walked further into his apartment to assist Katherine, slowly and begrudgingly walking inside to go up the stairs to where her new room lay. Opening the door, she almost gasped at how huge her room was now compared to her old one. And, just like Devon had announced, it was already decorated in a pleasing aesthetic that she wasn't sure she wanted to change. Letting out a slow breath, she slowly started to begin unpacking. She was on her third box when a knock on her door made her pause.

"Yeah?" She opened the door to find Devon standing there.

"I was just coming up to see how you're liking your new room," he started with a charming smile, sliding his hands into the pockets of his dress pants. "I decorated it to match your preferences, so I do hope you will feel comfortable in here."

"Yeah, no, it's great," she nodded. "Thank you for doing this."

"It's no problem," Devon shook his head as he glanced around her room, his eyes then landing on the empty boxes behind her. "Here, let me get those for you so they're out of your way."

"Really? Thanks," (Y/N) blinked as she walked over with him to the boxes. "You break down one I'll break down the other."

"Perfect."
