Y/N's face burned red, and she crossed her arms.

"No way!" Y/N retorted, going up to him and shoving him over in the seat.

Jeff scoffed and grabbed her arm, pulling her into the seat on top of him. Jeff shut the car door and signaled from EJ to drive.

Y/N gasped and squirmed in his lap, only to have Jeff's arms tight around her waist.

"Stop moving, idiot!" Jeff said.

Ben rolled his eyes while Toby turned up the music.

With enough bickering, Y/N settled in Jeff's lap, albeit stiffly. After some driving, they ended up at a park. The sign at the entrance called for no visitation after dark, but what was life without breaking a few rules?

EJ parked the car, and Jeff raised a confused brow.

"Why aren't we back at the mansion?" Jeff asked.

Toby shrugged, unbuckling his seat belt with a tic.

"Yippee!" Ben cheered as he exited the car, dashing towards the playset. Toby laughed at Ben's immaturity before running to join him.

"Wait for me, damnit!" Toby smiled, climbing up the stairs after him.

Y/N eagerly followed after, which was the only reason that made Jeff tag along, and EJ followed last.

It was a decently sized playground. A few slides, a swing set, monkey bars... And it was all connected into a minifortress, with the forest protecting it like a moat.

"We should all play sardines!" Toby said, standing on one of the swings and rocking it back and forth.

"I'm down!" Y/N smiled, and Ben agreed too.

"EJ, you're hiding." Ben said, nudging him.

EJ looked at all of them silently before turning and going to hide, surprisingly quickly.

The others huddled in a group, giggling, while Jeff was unamused and stoic.

"Ready or not, here we come!" Y/N said before running off to find EJ. The others dashed away too, looking around as fast as they could.

Y/N couldn't wipe the smile off her face as she looked in every place she could find. She noticed a few of them were gone, Ben and Toby, so it was a race between her and Jeff.

Y/N ran up the stairs of the playground and peered into one of the tunnel slides. She couldn't hear anything but decided to side down anyway. She was abruptly stopped halfway down the side, and she saw the three faces of the hiding boys.

"Did you see Jeff following you?" Ben whispered.

"Shhhh! You're gonna get us c-caught." Toby giggled.

Y/N bit back a laugh as she looked at the entrance of the slide. A few seconds later, Jeff slid down the slide, pressing against Y/N.

"Finally!" Jeff said with exhaustion. "I can't see shit in here. Who is this?" Jeff questioned, feeling around Y/N's hair and face.

She swatted his hands away.

"Cut that out. It's me!" She said, grabbing his wrist.

"I swear, if one of you rips ass, I'll beat the shit out of all of you." Jeff said, squirming his wrist free.

Ben laughed. EJ was the one at the bottom of the slide, and when he let go of his grip, everyone started to tumble out of the slide.

"AWUHH FUCK!" Ben shouted as his ass hit the mulch. Toby chuckled and laid in his back, having a small laughing fit.

Jeff had wrapped his arms around Y/N's waist, keeping her from tumbling out after them. Her eyes widened, and she looked back at Jeff, only for him to hold her tighter.

"You have to leave..." Jeff whispered into her ear, making her tense uncomfortably. He spoke again. "Before it's too late."

Y/N's eyes flickered into confusion, but she was called out by Toby at the bottom of the side.

"Come on, love birds! Let's go run in the woods before we have to go home!" Toby smiled before going back to Ben and EJ.

Jeff's grip loosened on her, and they shuffled to the bottom of the slide. The three other boys were already running for the treeline, but Y/N turned to face Jeff.

"What were you talking about?" She questioned, gripping the edge of his bloody sleeve as they walked after the trio.

Jeff stared at her solemnly before glancing away, distraught.

"This isn't real." He gritted out, pulling his sleeve away from her grip and dashing toward the woods.

Y/N's heart flipped, and she ran after him, her head spinning with more questions than answers.

"Jeff! Wait!" She called out, keeping her eyes on the specks of his bloodstained hoodie as she chased.

Fear grasped around her ribcage as she smacked away the foliage in hopes to keep up with him, but alas, he was gone.
