Y/N was lying on her side in Jeff's bed. She stared out the window that showed the view of the forest and rain that turned snow to slush. Jeff had left for a mission a few hours ago, leaving Y/N in his room.

What Jeff had said really stuck in her gut and made her feel even worse about wanting to leave. Something about the way he was so nonchalant made her want to start to develop an "I can fix him" type of attitude. Now she was torn between wanting to leave and wanting to stay.

Y/N turned over in the bed with an irritated groan, taking a pillow from beside her and holding it close like a person. She buried her face in the pillow, taking in the lingering scent of Jeff. Cigarette smoke. Weed. Alcohol. How cute.

Her eyes slowly shut, and she drifted off to sleep wearing Jeff's coat.

"Give me all you've got, and maybe I'll let you live," Jeff said flatly, pressing his boot into the back of some man's back. A knife held loosely in his hand.

The man fumbled through his pockets, tossing his keys and wallet out of them. Jeff leaned down and shuffled through the wallet, taking out all the cash and snooping through the rest. He took his foot off him, tossing the wallet at the man's head.

The fearful man stood up, on the verge of sobbing.

Jeff hummed.

"Give me your jacket, and I'll give you ten seconds to run," he smirked, sticking his hand out.

The man quickly complied and ran off. When he was far enough, Jeff turned with an eye roll and started to walk back toward the cabin. He tossed the jacket into the snow and tucked the cash into his pocket.

"Fuckin' idiot." Jeff mumbled, popping a half-smoked cigarette between his lips but not lighting it.

His feet crunched under the snow, and the wind picked up, making him shiver slightly. Damn this seasonal depression bullshit.

Jeff made it quickly back to the house. He shook off all the snow and kicked off his boots in the mudroom. The house was quiet. He looked at the clock. 4 a.m.

Jeff sighed with relief, and he slowly walked to his room, feeling drained. When he opened the door, he looked up, noticing Y/N sprawled out on the bed with a star.

He couldn't stop himself from chuckling slightly as he peeled off his hoodie, revealing his wife-beater and plethora of scars, along with a few tattoos. He sat on the edge of the bed tying the thin amount of hair he had left into a bun behind his head.

Jeff took the pillow that was in Y/N's grasp, putting it behind his head and laying down behind her. Y/N shifted in her sleep, and her arm flopped onto his face. He sputtered, grabbing her wrist and pulling it off his face.

Jeff lay there for a while, holding her softer arm in his roughly scarred hand. He took the cigarette from his mouth, putting it on an ashtray near his bed.

He glanced over to make sure she was still asleep before pulling her hand to his lips and pressing a soft kiss to her knuckles.

"I remember..." Jeff whispered against her skin, feeling the sting of tears behind his eyes. He gritted his teeth, forcing his tears away. He let out a shuddery sigh, interlocking their fingers and pressing another soft kiss to her knuckles.

Thunder rolled in the skies outside, and small crackles of hail clinked against the window. Y/N jumped out of her sleep when light flashed through the room, illuminating the surroundings for not even a second.

She blinked, looking around with half-asleep eyes. When her eyes landed on Jeff, she scooted closer, not even realizing they were holding hands.

"Jeff..." She mumbled, closing her eyes and leaning her head into the crook of his neck.

Jeff froze, slowly letting go of her hand and bringing it up to her hair. He carded his fingers through her locks, letting out a breath he didn't realize he was holding.

Jeff leaned his head against her, listening to the rumble of thunder outside as he reached for his cigarette and lighter. Lighting the cancer stick, he took a small drag from it, savoring the smoke before blowing it away from the pretty girl in his arms.

Jeff pulled the blanket over the both of them, smoking the small cig before snuffing it in the ashtray. He leaned back onto the bed, tracing small patterns like stars and hearts on her skin. He found himself going to sleep that night.

~

Knock. Knock. Knock.

Y/N opened her eyes slightly.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

Y/N opened her eyes fully, letting out a yawn before recognizing who was in front of her. A pair of bloodshot, pale blue eyes was staring directly into hers, causing her to let out a bloodcurdling scream.

Jeff jolting from his sleep, groaning from the morning dryness of his eyes. He glanced around before looking at Y/N.

"What da fuq?" He mumbled, his hair looking disheveled and his tank top slightly twisted on his form from a good sleep. He leaned over his bed and felt around for his jacket, reaching into the pocket, and pulling out eye drops.

Y/N put a hand on her chest, letting out shaky breaths.

"S-sorry. I forgot you didn't have..." She trailed off, watching as he dropped the liquid into his eyes and rolled them around, "eyelids..."

He looked around groggily, rubbing his forehead.

"Nah, nah, it's fine..." He sighed.

Y/N blinked, and a faint blush crept onto her cheeks. When the hell did he get here? She swore she fell asleep alone.

Her eyes trailed across his form, looking at his wife-beater that highlighted his slim, yet toned, form and the tattoos across his bicep and shoulder. But her heart ached when she spotted the millions of cut scars and small circular burns on his arms.

Knock. Knock. Knock.

Both of their heads turned towards the door, and they perked up. Jeff walked over sluggishly, opening it.

Toby was in a Christmas sweater, wearing a Santa hat, and EJ was beside him, holding a box.

Jeff raised an eyebrow, suddenly bewildered.

"CHRISTMAS TIME!" Toby cheered.

"What time is it?" Jeff grumbled, staring at them deadpan.

"It's like... like four in the afternoon," Toby grinned, clasping his hands together with glee. "CAN WE PLEASE CHOP DOWN A CHRISTMAS TREE THIS YEAR?!" He shouted.

Jeff stared at them; if his eyes could've widened anymore, they would have.

"I guess?" Jeff shrugged.

Toby shouted, "YIPPEE!!" He started off to the living room, and Jack walked behind him.

"Welp, I guess we're getting a tree," Jeff said tiredly, leaning down and grabbing his hoodie. He looked up at her and spoke with a smirk,

"Well, don't just sit there; c'mon."
