Y/N panted, looking around the tree as she crossed her arms. The coldness of the night bit against her skin, and he grimaced.

"Toby! Ben!?" She shouted out, her eyes weary with emotion. "EJ!?"

This wasn't how she expected the night to go.

"Jeff!!?" She yelled, but only the wind rustled the trees in return.

Y/N began to panic, pulling her hood over her head and continuously scanning her surroundings. Dread pooled in her gut, and she gripped the small plush on her pocket, pulling it out and staring at it.

Was she going crazy? What was Jeff even talking about?! She didn't need to run from them. They were like family.

...

Right?

"Is anyone there?" She asked, her voice cracking as she spoke.

Snap

Y/N spun around quickly to look behind herself, looking up to see a tall being. The dread wasn't the same as before, and it made her feel sick.

The being was tall and had many eyes and horns. It was like an abomination... Zalgo—completely horrifying in every way possible.

Y/N felt her knees wanting to buckle as the breaths left her chest, but her eyes were trained on the soulless ones of the being.

"You should have left when you had the chance." The being said it in an otherworldly voice.

Y/N gripped the small plushie, tears running down her face.

"What did you do with my friends!?" She asked sharply, her voice faltering with fear.

"Friends?" Zalgo questioned. "You're full of delusions."

Y/N gritted her teeth, shaking her head.

"They were right there! What did you do with them!?" She outraged, clenching her fists around the Jeff plushie.

"I didn't do anything." Zalgo replied, black smoke trickling from his form as he stared soulessly down at her.

Y/N knew that was a lie.

"Take me to them, now!" She ordered, glaring up at the being.

Zalgo stared down at her before replying cold and calculated with an undertone of deception.

"Is that what you want?" He questioned. "Fine."

With the end of his words, black smoke rose from behind him, engulfing her in the suffocating void. Y/N tried swatting away the darkness and gasping for air, to no avail. Her eyes teared up, her consciousness darkened, and she collapsed bonelessly to the earthy ground.

...

The hum of a fluorescent light buzzed Y/N out of the lethargic state. There were sounds of floorboards creaking and a howl of wind outside.

She slowly opened her eyes to be looking at her own lap, her head pouring and sore from the fall. She groaned, letting some of her hair fall in her face. She raised her head but found that she was restrained to a folding chair with rope.

Her memories rushed back to her, and she gasped before wincing at the pain in her head again. She cursed, looking down at herself. She was covered in dirt and muck... and blood.

She could tell she was in some sort of basement. Shelves lined the walls with equipment and random, old crap she could quite place.

A doorknob jingled behind her, and she jumped, turning her head to face while she was there. Old wooden stairs led up to a door, where she could only see her captor's feet.

She tried to open her mouth to speak. It only came out as a voice crack, making her throat more sore than before.

"Looks like someone's awake..." Claimed a raspy voice. The pair of feet defended the stairs slowly, every step making her heart fall further into her stomach.

She was about to question who, but then the person's face came into view. He was deathly pale, with sunken eyes and greasy brown hair. There was a hole in the side of his face, revealing his jacked-up molars. He sported a blood splattered jacket that was navy blue. The man looked like he hadn't shaved for a couple weeks.

Was that Toby?

The man let out a chuckle, causing Y/N to clench her fists in denial. It couldn't be; that man looked nothing like the boy she knew, or so she thought.

"I'm surprised you're not... You're not screaming...." The man said. He tilted his head to the side like an owl, his steps inching closer.

Y/N stared at him, her eyes flickering with recognition.

"Toby?" She muttered sheepishly.

The man's face flashed with anger, and he snarled.

"Don't call me that!" He snapped, grabbing the back of the chair and yanking her back. The chair she was strapped to teetered on its two back legs.

She let out a yell, staring up at him.

He studied her face, and it looked like there was little to no life in his eyes.

"How...how do you know... that name?" He asked, his gloved hand's grip on the chair tightening.

Y/N's mouth went dry.

Surely this wasn't real. It's a prank. It has to be. She knows Toby; they went with everyone else to the park and then... the woods.

"W-we're friends." Y/N spoke, her eyebrows scrunched together.

Tobias stared at her blankly before letting out an abrupt laugh and letting go of her chair, letting it sit upright. Her eyes widened as she scanned over him, and she gulped, her chest squeezing with trepidation.

"You've lost your fucking mind already!" He grinned, showing off his crooked, pearly whites.

Y/N's face drained of color, and she almost spoke again but was cut off by Tobias yelling to someone upstairs.

"You guys really-r-really brought back a looney!" He cackled, gripping the chair again and giving it a rough shake.

Y/N gritted her teeth as her mind whirled with thoughts.

Tobias went back to the stairs, climbing them again.

"Now, don't go anywhere, Or-or I'll slit your throat!" He warned, yet his tone was joking. It still made her heart drop.

Tobias dashed up the stairs, still laughing as his heavy boots thudded to the next floor.

She was able to just barely hear what that man said next.

"Come on, Jeff, hurry! You have to see this!"
