In this game where you're hard to beat
Where touch is your perfect cheat
Your frustration; like of blazing heat
When I'd choose to stand firm on my feet

On our table where I've been sitting still
Taking what you spooned until feeling ill
Your warmth would then turn to such aching chill
When I'd pull away from your tiresome thrill

I do adore the light you share
But regret is crippling in this romantic lair
I'd look up at you and wonder if you care
To figure, can he not see the 'no' in my eyes that glare?

Your suffocating beam is robbing my sleep
You thought it's been the peace I've longed to reap
But the ray you've given has burned too deep
As I think of the vows I thought you'd keep

O, how you once said we'd take it light
But as time passed by, you're flaring too bright
I pleaded for calmness with all our love's might
But it feared me so, to see you out of sight

On this spot amidst the dark
I played it safe to not lose your spark
Your forbidden want drew a permanent mark
But little were my restraints as I sin on my own art

Finally, I flew when I could not bare
To be lured recklessly-continuously by your stare
For I'm the only moth who did not dare;
Didn't dare to have you burn the wings I wear
