Chapter 9

"You are mine."

I stare at him with a blank expression. There is no way this man thinks I am his. I mean I understand why. We have been through quite a bit these last few days but that does not mean that. Not that I am opposed to this. I want to be his in every way possible.

I want his touch, his kisses, his love, his everything. I want it all. I want him so badly to call me his. I just know it couldnt work unless I quit this job. That is a huge risk for me. Honestly, I can't find a job that pays better or even close to this. Why am I even thinking about this? All he had to do was ask and I'd say yes. As bad as that sounds.

He smirks and puts his hand on my lower back. "Let's go. I don't want to work at the office today."

I look up at him. "Fine." I push him out of the way. I grab my laptop and notebook then stuff them into my bag. I look around my desk trying to find my phone. Shoot, I must've left it in the break room.

I grab my bag and head for the door. I look back at Jack. "I will meet you at the car. I forgot my phone in the breakroom." I unlock the door and head towards the breakroom.

I walk into the breakroom and see Chloe still standing there trying to figure out the copy machine. I just chuckle and walk past her to grab my phone. Thank god it was just chilling on the counter.

"What're you doing in here? I don't need you to check on me." Chloe says, rolling her eyes. She starts hitting random buttons on the machine.

"I came to grab my phone since I am going home." I look at her smirking because this is just too funny. I am not a mean girl, but be mean or have an attitude towards me and the mean girl in me will come out.

She turns and looks at me. "Yeah you need to change your shirt." She turns back around and finally hits the right button.

"Yeah, thanks captain obvious." I continue to watch her.

Colby walks into the breakroom and just stands there. He stares at her and then at me.

"Am I interrupting something?" He asks as he slowly walks over to the fridge.

"No you're not. I was just grabbing my phone and heading out." I move out of his way and start walking to the door.

Chloe and him start talking. As she's talking to him she's twirling her hair. This girl is too much for me. Just watching her talk to any man makes me nauseous.

"Chloe. If you don't get those papers back to Jack. He'll be pissed." I say to her looking at her with my arms crossed.

"Well if you knew how to do your job, I wouldn't be here doing it for you." She turns and looks at me.

"Excuse me?" I stare at her with my eyebrows raised.

"You heard me. I did not stutter." She turns to the copy machine and grabs the papers.

"Well, if you knew how to do anything I asked you to do he wouldn't send you to copy papers. Which might I add, is one of the easiest jobs to do." I chuckle while talking. "Oh wait! You could barely figure out how to do that."

I turn to walk out and she yells something as I am leaving. I know I should just leave it alone but I just can't. I walk back into the room.

"If you have more to say, just say it to me." I lean against the door frame. "Get it all out of your system."

"Okay I will." She turns around and has the papers in both her hands. "I can't stand the way you look when you type. I do not like your outfits. I don't like the fact that I can't have my own desk. I hate the way everyone looks at you when you enter a room. I especially hate the fact that Jack is always glancing up at you whenever you sigh. I also hate that he stares at you whenever you talk, get up, when you do absolutely anything." She sighs and takes a breath. Here we go, she's just getting started.
