August
Walking through the airport, I was tired. Having bus trouble on our way to this next state, I made the decision to fly while the others were on the road.
"The bus is back on the road." I heard Terrence behind me.
"Okay good. Let's get to this hotel so a nigga could get some sleep. Last night was too lit." I laughed.
"You remembered to call Chrys back?"
"Shit!"
Getting my phone out of my pocket, I pressed her contact on FaceTime. As it rang, I hoped she'd pick up and not be mad at me.
"Yeah?" She answered not looking at the camera
"Baybeh?"
Giving me her attention, she looked at me then went back to what she was doing.
"You good?" I asked confused. "What you doing?"
"I'm making a cake topper." She showed me.
"Oh, I ain't mean to disturb you and sorry for not calling you back yesterday."
"Mhmm."
"Y'all back home?"
"Yeah we are."
"August sleeping?"
"No. My mom took him to the zoo, so it's just me home."
"Oh ok." I nodded.
"What about you?"
"Tired like whoa but it was good. After the show we went out."
"Oh okay."
"You sure you're okay babe?"
"Why do you keep asking me that? I said I was okay."
"I just want to make sure. I'm not tryna upset you anymore than I already did."
"Well stop asking me if I'm good." She sighed.
"Aight."
"Where are you right now?"
"On my way to the hotel. My bus was giving some problem so me and T and Sean took a plane outchea so we wouldn't be late."
"Ah okay and the others drove?"
"Yeah. Kevin and em are there already and well my bus is back on the road."
"Okay."
Looking at her as she continued making the topper, part of me wondered if this was her being passive or what. I knew her moods switched from time to time but I just couldn't tell.
