XLVII - Where Is She?

Third Person POV

"Bec.... Are you okay?" -- Nam asked Becky while the friends group had gathered for an early dinner together. Becky tried to smile, but she could not fake it for long.

"It's been 20 days and still no contact.. I wonder where she is what is she doing!" -- Tee said and Irin tapped her to stop by looking at Becky who was lost in thought.

"We can't force uncle and aunty to give us a way to contact her you know.." -- Kade also joined the conversation.

It'd been 20 days after they dropped Freen at the airport and waited for her call. Freen's number was unavailable and she was no longer using any of her social accounts. They did wait for her call or messages and finally visited the Chankimhas for getting the details.

Flashback

"But Nam... Her Project will start after two months only. She is taking a break. I thought you all must know." -- Aron (Mr. Chankimha) sat opposite to them and explained. The friends just looked at each other.

"If she chooses to be away, may be we should not give away the details, right?" -- Siriporn (Mrs. Chankimha) sat next to her husband and apologetically smiled.

"But aunty... Why did she do like this? That too after almost ten months.." -- Tee asked. -- "We knew she was hurting and keeping all to herself.. But is it necessary? To go away like this?" -- She continued.

"That's why she must have taken this decision" -- Siriporn took Tee's hand in hers and said softly.

"We were curious why she was silent after all these incidents.. and kept watching her.. First she drowned herself in alcohol like everyone knows... Then she became calm.. Too much calm that it made us worried. Then she moved back to her own apartment and we lost sight of her... What... What hurt most was that.... It.. It all happened in some..some months...."-- Siriporn stopped when she started stuttering.

"Then it was there...all over again.. The dating rumours of Beck, and Freen seemed not to be aware of it..which was understandable because she had been away from all these, except work, after Becky and Freen..........." -- She sighed and looked at the four friends, listening to her attentively.

"Do you remember that night Nam? That night when you said you and Bunny saw Beck with Jane in the restaurant? You did call me after reaching and we were worried... and decided to visit Freen, to make sure that she was okay.. "

Siriporn's POV

The apartment was in darkness when we arrived. We used the password and entered the apartment, just to confirm that she was asleep. We turned on the light and it was all a mess. It looked liked the apartment hadn't been cleaned in months. Clothes were strewn here and there. The kitchen looked like it hadn't been used in a long while. Unwashed plates and cups were piled up in the sink. Empty bottles scattered on the kitchen floor. The overflowing waste bin was full of take away food covers.

Aron looked at me and I reluctantly walked to her room.. It was disturbing to see this apartment this way..especially in contrast to the spotless cleanliness and warmth here that made this place very appealing to everyone.

I entered the room and Freen was lying across the bed..
