Niall's P.O.V.
The next morning I woke up to the mouth watering smell of bacon frying in a pan. I could hear it sizzling from my make-shift bed on the couch. Rubbing the sleep from my eyes, I sat up from my lying position. Natalie had been kind enough to let me crash at her place for the few days that I was in town. I stumbled my way into the kitchen and sat down in one of the wooden chairs at her table.
"Good morning," she chirped.
"Good morning beautiful," I said, my voice gravely from slumber.
"Sleep well?" She turned to look at me over her shoulder. A dazzling smile played on her small pink lips.
"Like a baby. What about you? Any peas under your mattress keep you awake?" I joked, her melodic laughter quickly filled the kitchen.
"I slept well myself," she said as she turned back around.
"Good, because you have a full day ahead of you." I stood up from my place at the table and went to lean against the counter next to Natalie.
"Oh really? What does my schedule look like today?" she asked.
"Well you have class today and then work this afternoon, am I wrong?"
"No," she responded.
"That's what I thought. What time do you get off of work?"
"Uhh, seven I believe," she looked at me before flipping the bacon over in the pan. "Why do you ask?"
"Just wondering when I needed to pick my girlfriend up for our date," I replied with a cheeky grin.
"Oh so we're going on a date tonight are we? Since when?" she asked in a playful tone.
"Since I just said so."
"Okay then, where is my boyfriend taking me tonight?"
Boyfriend. I loved hearing her call me her boyfriend almost as much as I loved calling her my girlfriend. I loved the way it sounded on her lips, knowing that I was the one she was referring too. My lips pulled up into a ginormous smile that made my cheeks ache.
"He isn't going to tell you," I answered before pressing a tender kiss onto Natalie's right cheek.
"I figured as much. Will you at least tell me if I should dress casual or fancy or somewhere in between?"
"Something cute and casual," I answered after some thought.
"Okay, you're going to have to vacate my apartment between the hours of one and three so I can get ready before work," she stated.
"That's fine," I said with a small smile still on my lips.
"Your bacon's ready and I really need to get going. I can't be late," Natalie said as she placed the bacon on a plate for me.
"Alrighty, I'll see you soon love," I replied as she gathered her bags.
She paused long enough in the kitchen to look at me and decide to quickly peck me on the lips. That wasn't her smartest idea. When she went to turn away I lightly grabbed onto her wrist, and gently tugged her back in front of me. Natalie's eye brows knit together in confusion making her look simply adorable. I couldn't resist and pulled her in for a longer kiss. Her lips tasted like strawberries and whipped cream, making me hungrier for her kiss. But before either of us, mainly me, could get to carried away she pulled her lips from mine. I pouted at her for doing so and she just giggled, her eyes crinkled in the corners. I couldn't stay mad at her when she looked at me with those sparkling green eyes of hers.
