Natalie's P.O.V.
I searched through the crowded air port for the woman I have grown to call my mother. My eyes darted from one face to the next until I spotted her familiar face. She waved like a madwoman when she caught sight of me herself. Picking up my carry on I rushed over to her, flinging my arms around her neck once I reached her.
"Mom, I've missed you so much!" I cried.
"Me too pumpkin, me too. You really need to visit home more," she said squeezing me tightly.
"I know, but it's just hard you know?"
"Yes, but you're going to have to face things at some point. You can't just ignore things forever."
"I can always try," I joked sadly.
I heard my mom sigh deeply as she pulled away. Her eyes held so much worry and pity for me. My gaze dropped down to my feet unable to maintain eye contact any longer.
"Come on, I know something that will cheer you up," she said, wrapping an arm around my shoulders, leading me out of the air port.
"Okay since when does Duluth have a Chipotle?" I asked nearly bouncing in my seat from pure happiness.
"Since about a month ago, I tried telling you but you weren't listening to me."
"Sorry," I said smiling widely."God, I have missed Chipotle," I said before shoveling a forkful of rice and steak into my mouth.
"They don't have Chipotle in California?"
"What? Oh, no, they don't have it in London," I said eating another forkful.
"London? What were you doing in London?" My mom asked in her infamous 'You better not lie to me or else' tone that I knew that if I didn't answer carefully I would end up in deep shit.
"Well Emma, Anna, and I went there to sight see with my boyfriend and his friends for the summer."
"What's Andrew doing in London? I thought he was in California."
"Andrew and I, uh, we broke up in February," I said looking down at my bowl.
"How come you didn't tell me about this sooner?"
"I've been really busy with school," I lied.
"I wish you had told me sooner," my mom spoke softer than usual.
"Why?" I asked, tilting my head slightly.
"Because I may have invited him out to the house for the week as a surprise," my mom said shifting uncomfortably in her seat.
"What?! Mom, how could you?" I yelled.
"I didn't know you two had broken up!"
"You have to get rid of him. I can't be around him and if Niall finds out he'll flip!"
"Niall, who's he?" my mom questioned.
"My boyfriend."
"He's the one in London, correct?"
"Yes, but that's not the point mom. Things ended badly between Andrew and myself. I honestly cannot be around him."
"Oh come on pumpkin, just give him a chance." Was my mom pleading on his behalf?
"What? No mom, I love Niall, and I don't ever want to see Andrew again."
"What happened between you two Natalie? You two were perfect together," my mom pushed on.
"No we weren't mother. He cheated on me, multiple times. And each time I was foolish enough to believe that he would change." I watched her face drop.
