CHAPTER 14

The night passed in a blur with Aarav clinging to Kabir and Shrey clinging to Aarav. Kabir just held onto both without having a wink of sleep. His night passed by drowning himself in self blaming thoughts. As the sunrays entered the room Shrey's sleep was disturbed, and he whined which bought Kabir out of his reverie and he started caressing his head, "Sleep baccha", and Shrey immediately went back to sleep as it was shy of seven in the morning and both of them had taken two days leave from Marham. Perks of being the owner so sometimes chalta hai.

After sometime his phone rang which was kept on the side table, he picked it up and sighed when he saw the caller id. He gently freed himself from Aru, who immediately snuggled into Shrey and covered them both with a blanket. He closed the door and went out of the room, and dialed the number.

"Hello, why did you called me this early?""Oh my I was just checking the network, because I thought you wouldn't receive the call given your inability to wake up early"."What do you mean? I wake up at seven thirty and it's not that late", Kabir replied with a frown of course seven thirty is not late."Yes, it's not late but if Shrey did not wake you up, you will happily sleep till ten, that's the reason. But now I want to ask how did you wake up so early?" Kabir just sighed hearing him."Actually I didn't slept the whole night", he said and heard a gasp from other side."Kindly enlighten me the reason about why this sleepy demon didn't get a wink of sleep at night. Is something troubling you? Everything is fine right? you have to tell me". He asked as if he's concerned about him."Are you concerned about me Mr-""Of course I'm concerned about you Pri- I mean Kabir""It's just that everything that happened yesterday is disturbing me a lot, I hope your spies would have informed you about yesterday. I'm wondering about those people....who were they? and why they wanted that land so badly?""You are right....even I'm worried about the attack but I think I know someone who will have the answer"."Who's that person? Tell me"."I can't tell now but you have to visit your Ancestral Mansion soon, there you will get to know your answers", Kabir sighed and about to answer him but the man beat him to it,"Also now please don't stress yourself so much and take rest, you badly need that", the mystery person said cut the call.

Kabir thought about all the necessary possibilities and found none for which the attack can be done, but then again he didn't have full information about their world so he might be missing something. The situation is dire and Kabir finds his brothers stuck in the labyrinth of power. He fears about losing his brothers just like their parents. No he can't let that happen, he will fight against every demon which strikes against his brothers. He will become their shield, having magical powers doesn't define his love for his brothers. With the tenacious thoughts of protecting his brothers he entered Aru's room.

And saw both of them still sleeping, so he thought to freshen up and order breakfast. He went to his room to freshen up and came back to see Shrey already up and stretching himself. While Shrey almost fell down while stretching seeing Kabir as he thought he might be sleeping in his room. But Kabir saved his fall by holding him securely in his arms, "What are you thinking Shrey, you could've have fallen and injured yourself beta be careful okay", saying he released him while Shrey stood with wide eyes gaping at him, "Bhaiya, what are you doing here", Kabir frowned such weird thing "Beta Shrey I remember I can be anywhere I want", "No bhaiya I mean what are you doing here early morning and that too all ready", Kabir laughed and pulled his cheeks, "Ohh.... my brat brother is astonished about me waking up early, its just that I was sleeping but then I got an important call and my sleep broke I woke up early, now you got it beta", Shrey nodded and continued his stretching and Kabir sat beside Aru who was still in his dreamland. 

He caressed his hair and Aru just snuggled into him feeling his bhaiya and opened his eyes, "Good morning Bhaiya", after hearing Aru, Shrey quickly sat beside him, "Bhaiyu you woke up, good morning bhaiyu, how are you feeling now? Are you okay? Tell us why are you quiet", Shrey whined and Kabir laughed, "Shrey if you will give a chance to speak then only he will tell us about how he's feeling right", Hearing this Shrey sheepishly smiled and Aru laughed "It's alright bhaiya and Shrey I'm fine beta and feeling really good and my throat is also feeling a little relief but still a bit itchiness is still there", he said and scratched his throat a little. Kabir stopped him and told him, "It will take a day or two to fully recover and for that you have to eat only soups", hearing this Aru made faces and Shrey laughed.
