Chapter Sixty-Four: I'm not into nercophilia.

Austin Cole

"Brother! You will never guess what I–"

My alarm clock was thrown across the room. I heard my best friend yell out in shock. "Austin, what the fuck, that could've killed me."

"Sadly, I missed," I muttered, shutting the laptop I had been trying to use for the better part of the morning. The only thing stopping me was the girl that laying on top of me.

I shook my head at the fact she thought that her pillow fort could've worked. At some point she would've ended up with her head on my chest. She always did. I think it was my favourite part of these nights, because she unconsciously makes the decision to get closer to me.

"Ohhhh," Reece trailed off, slightly louder than a whisper, "she's asleep?"

I nodded at him, "and you're lucky you didn't wake her. She's not a morning person."

Not to mention, I kinda wanted her to sleep a little longer. She looked so peaceful and I knew that she'd have a weird day today. The guys weren't going to be very calm about the news we were going to break to them. Although, I had a feeling they were expecting it.

"It's practically noon."

It wasn't, but it was just how we were raised. Fred was the same. We were all early risers. It was just how we were raised.

I shrugged, watching him walk over to my desk and pull out the chair. "Did you finish the scene?"

"Did you think I wouldn't?" Reece scoffed, "how little do you think of me?"

I hummed, looking down at the girl on my chest. The braid I had done in her hair last night was coming apart in places. She seemed surprised by the fact I could do them, but then she remembered I had a baby sister.

"You know, I kinda feel like I have to say it–"

"Don't you dare–"

"I told so."

I groaned softly, leaning back against the headboard. I couldn't stop the smile from sliding onto my lips. Reece was right. He got his ending.

"I always knew you'd both end up together, ever since I first met her. Granted, her fashion sense needs a little bit of work, but my mom will help her out with that and
it's not like she's in any competition with you." Reece smiled at me, a genuine smile, not one of his fake 'I'm always happy smiles', "I'm happy for you, Austin."

"Thanks, Reece," I smiled back at him, looking down at the girl that was cuddling further into my ribcage. I don't think she realises that I'm not exactly as soft as a pillow. "I told her about your mum's offer, by the way. I don't think she'll take it, but we both know that."

Reece shrugged, "it's up to her, but you know, she's not going to be exactly out of the spotlight now that she's officially your girl."

I nodded, moving a fallen strand off her face. I knew that Melody wasn't exactly a fan of being known and perceived. She wasn't used to it like Reece, Fred and I. I tried to keep her out of the know as much as possible, but it was going to be harder now that we were together. After the I signed the deal, it was going to be impossible.

I wasn't exactly opposed to the idea of everyone knowing that I was hers and she was mine. I knew that she didn't like the spotlight though and as much as I wanted to shield her for that side of things, I knew that I couldn't always.

They already knew her as Melody. The girl that wore a dress designed by me and Valerie for her newest collection. The girl that went viral for wearing that said dress.
