Chapter Sixty-Seven: I'd marry you with a fake Elvis if that's what you wanted.
"Cash, cheque or car?"
I groaned, throwing the pillow that I was once snuggling at the intruder. That intruder being one of my best friends. "Go away."
"What is with you two and trying to kill me in the morning?" I heard Reece mumble as he walked closer to me. "Jess, gal-pal, you need to get up. The Cole's throw a massive new year party."
"Go away," I grumbled into Austin's duvet. "I hate parties."
"Come on," Reece coaxed softly, "I'll make sure you get the biggest slice of cake."
"What is with you rich people and cake," I grumbled, peering over the duvet to see Reece sat on the edge of the bed. "Why are you wearing a suit?"
"Because I'm a business man, duh."
I shook my head, "you don't act like one."
"Does anyone you know act like one?" Reece was right. The only business man I knew that acted like one was Vincent Cole and I didn't even know him that well. "Jess, I'm going to need you to get up and get ready."
"For what?" I asked him, rubbing my eyes, "and where's Austin?"
"The party," Reece exclaimed, throwing his hands up in the air, "it's the biggest event of the year, Jess. I can't believe you didn't know about the Cole's New Year's parties before today. I mean it's–"
"Reece," I said, suddenly more awake now, "where's Austin?"
"Gal-pal, let's all just take a deep breath–"
I groaned, laying back on the bed, "I hate deep breathing."
"You hate everything in the morning," Reece pointed out as he practically danced around Austin's room, "now, can you please get out of bed so we can get this show on the road?"
I shook my head, rolling onto my side. "I'm not joining the circus with you."
"I'm glad to know Austin's ruined all my fun, but we're not going to join the circus today, Jessie. We are going to a shoot."
I sat up on the bed, ignoring Reece's disgusted expression at my bed head. "Why is Austin at a shoot?"
"Because he doesn't want you freaked out when you get there."
"I didn't say yes."
Reece smiled innocently at me.
"I hate you," I muttered, laying back on the bed, "I'm sleeping now. Go away."
"Pretty please. You're going to look so good and beautiful and sexy and–"
"Never call me sexy again that's so weird."
"Yes, agreed. You're so not sexy?"
I groaned, covering my face with my hands, "You're so annoying. All I want to do is sleep."
"You can sleep in the car," Reece promised me, "and you can wear Austin's clothes to the shoot, but you have to be nice to the girls when they talk to you. If you bark at them like you're barking at me, they'll sue me."
"I hope they do."
"I heard that," Reece said as he grabbed my wrist gently and pulled me up from the mattress. He grinned at me, "can we please get a move on, because I think Austin is going crazy over there waiting for you to arrive."
I frowned at him, "You guys should've told me about this instead of ambushing me at dawn."
"It's eleven am."
