“What do you mean he had the conch? We've never even been to the ocean!” she spat.

“Yes but he still had it. And he used it to manipulate water.” He said, holding the conch in one hand and having one hand on his arm.

“How did you even know we had a conch and how did you know it was Frosts? How would it manipulate water…”

“It's magic. I can sense vibrations. Magic objects each create their own vibrations in the air, small disturbances from their presence. This one's vibrations were the same as the one Frost used. As for how it controlled water I'm not sure.”

“So he was keeping something this powerful a secret…” she muttered and grabbed the conch.

“He used it to kill the last level five morph… she was strong… but not strong enough. He blew into this end and it commanded the water.” he gestures to one end.

Upon closer inspection the pink spots were actually holes. This was an instrument much like a flute or ocarina. Sapphire held it up this time carefully. She took a deep breath and blew into the conch. It bellowed out a low deep noise. And the surface of the pond shuddered for a moment before a small bubble of water was lifted into the air. Sapphire's eyes widened and she took the conch away from her mouth. As soon as the tip of the conch left her mouth, the water fell back to the ground with a splash.

“Huh, guess it only works as long as I breathe into it.” She said, tossing the shell into the air and catching it. I smiled.

“It'll be helpful for the next challenge.” Cobalt waved us over to the gate and we could see the arena filling with water. Deep water too. Our little metal stand was replaced with a high pile of sand. This was mirrored all around it.

“Why are they doing this…” I wondered out loud. Raven opened his mouth and was about to speak when Cobalt jumped in.

“Not every round will be like that first one. That was some just to make sure that people can survive the bloodbath at the start of rounds. They get different areas and topics to work with. This one seems to be some kind of water survival. Judging on the muted vibrations and how much there is.”

“Wait, how are we supposed to fight without Luna? we are already a smaller team than the others!”

“Not every round is against another team. There are many rounds against monsters like hydras and chimeras.” Cobalt explained. “I wonder if they have any ideas about venom cures….” He muttered the last part.

Venom… why would he want a cure for venom? I wondered as my eyes darted to Raven. He looked between the two of us.

“Gorgons can turn people into stone by biting them as well as eye contact. One of his snakes probably bit someone by accident.” he said. My mind went to the memory walk I did on Luna. Maybe this would work on Cobalt. But it's wrong, we can't just do this to him.

We are going to look at his memories. Just anything I can use to help him. I looked at Raven as his eyes darted back and forth.

“No. we won't. His memories are part of something bigger.” He said, glaring.

Oh… but it was ok to do that to Luna? I glared back.

“I didn't think she'd be a part of it. I won't allow it.” he growled.

I'm your vessel right. Then I should get to use these powers how I want. I glared. He looked furious before disappearing

A few days later he still hasn't returned. Me sapphire and Cobalt stood in front of the gate. Sapphire had her bow and arrows and the conch. Cobalt had his sword. I had my spear. I had a feeling he wouldn't want to help today.
