The other two ran off as I landed on the ground. I tore my spear out from the person's back.
It was dripping in blood.
As I walked toward Luna, puddles of blood sloshed around me. She had a large gash on her side, probably from a sword. I took my spear and cut up some clothing from the surrounding corpses.
I gently wrapped the cloth around Luna's wound. She made a small noise of protest. That was a good sign.
All of a sudden I was knocked over by something hitting my head. “GET AWAY FROM HER!” I glanced up and Cobalt was glaring down at me.
“DON'T YOU EVER TOUCH HER AGAIN.” he growled, gasping for breath.
He didn't know. All he knew was that Luna was hurt and I was there. He thought I was hurting Luna.
“WAIT!” I tried to get past his anger. Even though he was blind I had never seen so much anger in anyone's eyes before.
“I didn't hurt Luna. There were about three people attacking her. I wrapped her wounds and she will be fine. We just have to protect her for the rest of the round.”
An arrow whizzed past me. I was trying so hard to calm Cobalt down that I wasn't paying attention to my surroundings. The arrow stuck into someone a ways away.
But it was too late.
“GET DOWN!” I tackled Cobalt to the ground. As the javelin the dead guy threw landed nearby sticking out of the ground.
Sapphire ran up to us. “Ok- what the hell did you do? You’re explaining the entire thing when this is over!”
I was confused but realized that she was probably talking about the thing that was controlling me.
“We have to protect Luna. She'll be fine soon.” I remembered the natural healing that happens if a wound is left with pressure on it.
We positioned ourselves around her body in a triangle shape. I was facing west, Cobalt south, and Sapphire east. Very few people remained in the arena after a few hours.
“AND THAT'S ALL FOR THE MATCH TODAY!” a loud voice called over the speakers. I didn't even notice the match had a commentator until now.
It was a while but eventually Luna was looking much better. Her face had regained some color and her ears twitched at loud sounds.
I grabbed a rag and soaked it in the pond. What happened to me? By now I should tell the group what happened to me. Cobalt didn't need more stress though, he's already panicking about Luna.
“Ok… Spill.” Sapphire said, swimming toward me. She put her arms on the edge of the pond, Which close up actually looked more like a pool. It had a concrete edge with a couple inches between it and the water.
I looked down at Sapphire. Her blue eyes stared back. “I don't know exactly what happened.” I said after a minute.
“But I do know that wasn't me. I wasn't me. Not any more.” I squeezed my eyes shut in an attempt to stop the tears.
A cold hand was placed on my knee.
“It's ok, just please tell me what you know.” Sapphire said. I continued with my eyes closed
“Something took control of me. I had seen similar things in my dreams. Except the dreams aren't dreams more like memories. Things that repeat over and over in my head but just out of reach.”
When I finished I felt arms wrap around me. I was shocked and opened my eyes. Sapphire, who was usually trying to remain cold and distant, was hugging me.
