“Let her go!” I ran out to see the people in suits holding Luna. Her hands were tied behind her back and she had a muzzle on. Cobalt was facing toward the men in suits. I thought he was glaring but I couldn't tell due to the new soft blue blindfold over his eyes.

Sapphire's gills were wide open- not enough to trigger her siren song, but enough to tell she was furious. She was standing close to Luna and glaring at the men.

My wings flew open and I ran over there. Luna's eyes lit up when she saw me. “WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO HER!” I was about to lunge at the people when Cobalt pulled me and Sapphire back.

I struggled and yelled as they took her away. As soon as the metal door closed, cobalt let me go. I ran to the door and banged on it. The guards on the other side yelled at me.

I fell to my knees, crying. No… she can’t be gone. What will they do to her? I felt a soft hand on my shoulder, scales digging into my skin. Cobalt. This is his fault he stopped me! I whipped around to face Cobalt.

“Stop, let him explain.” Raven yelled at me but I ignored him. I was about to attack when Cobalt sighed.

“Dove, she's fine.” He rubbed his forehead. His snakes moved slowly around his head, their tongues flicking in and out “This is normal. It's a full moon soon.”

“That doesn't explain why they took her! And why didn't you fight them! I thought she was your sister!” I yelled at him. The snakes coil up.

“She IS my sister! I’M JUST NOT NOT STUPID! WEREWOLVES LOSE CONTROL DURING FULL MOONS! They take her away so she doesn’t hurt anyone.” he said, glaring at me.

I stayed silent and slowly he calmed down and went back to the cave. I sat down on a rock near the pool that Sapphire was now swimming in.

“I wish I could rip out their eyes and shove them down their throats.” she muttered.

“Ok… that's a bit much.” I let out a stiff chuckle as she propped herself up with her body in the pool but her upper body, head, and arms were leaning on the side.

“OH!” She let out a loud noise and pulled herself out of the pool and rummaged near a rock before pulling out a few clothes.

“I made your clothes now, try them on and let me see how it looks.” She said happily. I grabbed them and went behind some builders that would hide me from view.

I removed the stiff dirty clothes and put on the new ones. It was a long brown sleeved shirt that was slightly big and allowed a lot of movement. The pants were dark gray and were baggy but also fit perfectly.

Then I grabbed what would be best described as a half poncho. It went down to half of my torso a few inches above my belly button. Because of this it left my wings free so it wouldn't get tangled mid flight. Sapphire had surprising knowledge about these things.

When I got out from behind the boulders I saw Sapphire handing a set of clothes to Cobalt. He went back to the cave to change. I grabbed a knife from the weapon rack and sat near Sapphire, cutting our old clothes into strips of fabric we could use.

“You know I think I know a way to escape.” Sapphire whispered. We had been careful not to mention escape around Cobalt, because it seemed to be a touchy subject.

“I'm listening.”I said, putting down the knife and looking at her, giving her my full attention. We made sure to keep our voices low so there would be no chance of the guards hearing us.

“Ok so while everyone snoozed away last night i explored in more detail. There are ventilation shafts in here. One close to the ceiling we can reach by climbing some of the boulders, and the other is under water.” my eyes widened. How could I have never checked the shafts?
