“Are you sure you want to go?
You still look so pale.. And your
forehead is still a bit warm.
I don't think it's-” 

“Mom. I'll be fine.
Kuroo will bring me to school
and he'll also walk me back home too.
It's not like there's even the slightest
chance of me being alone to
faint somewhere.” 

“Do you feel like fainting?
I told you you're not strong
enough yet, you look so tired-”

“Mom, I'm fine.
Really.”

“But no volleyball!”

His mother squinched her eyes
as she wrapped a thick scarf around
his neck, not wanting her son
to get even more sick.

“Since you don't want me to
go home alone, I'll have to wait
until Kuroo finishes practice.
But I'll stay on the bench
the whole time.”

“Promise?”

“Promise.
There's my sports bag, see?
I can't play without my shoes.”

Kenma tried his best to persuade
his mother but only when he forced
himself to smile a bit, she gave him
a firm nod and kissed his head.

“Be careful, okay?
You can call me if you start
feeling unwell again.”

“Yeah, mom.
See you later.”

The pudding head waved shortly
before he opened the front door,
his gaze falling on his boyfriend who
was already standing at the porch,
waving at Kenma and his mother.

“Tell Kuroo I said hi.
See you later, sweetie.”

His mother gifted him one last
smile before Kenma made his
way over to the waiting ravenette.

“Hey kitten.
How are you feeling?”

Tetsuro smiled at his boyfriend
as he fixed the younger's scarf
(as if his mother hadn't done that
just minutes ago) and pressed a
short peck on Kenma's forehead,
making him whine.

“Kuroo..
My mom is watching.”

“As if we're doing something
totally scandalous. You're hilarious,
kitten. You know that we've
done worse..”

The ravenette leaned down to
purr the last sentence in the
younger's ear, making him slap
the older's chest weakly.

“S-shut up..”

“Okay, since you asked this nicely.
Let's go, we'll be late.”

Kenma smiled slightly at the sight
of his boyfriend laughing and didn't
complain when Kuroo intertwined
their hands just to stuff them in
the pocket of his jacket, it
was cold after all. 

“Oi, Kenma! Long time no see!
Did Kuroo give you the treats?”

Being so tall and so noisy was
not a great combination in
Kenma's opinion.
