“No. I can't excuse you for more
days, two days is the limit.”

“I know but.. Kuroo..”

“Kenma.
He's your boyfriend,
you can't hide from him forever.
And he's a great guy, you know that.
He won't be mad at you for needing
a few days to yourself.”

“But I.. I basically ignored him.
And I'm so bad at lying too.”

The blonde muttered as his mother
adjusted the scarf around his neck
and pulled his hood over his head.

“Tell him as much as you're
comfortable with and he'll
understand. I packed an extra
piece of apple pie in case you need
to calm him with food though.
But I'm pretty sure you'll
eat that yourself, hm?”

His mother chuckled as she cupped
his cheeks and squished them gently.

Now that she knew why her son had
developed quite the appetite lately,
she hadn't hesitated one second
to prepare his favorite foods.

“Take care, sweetie.
See you later.
Don't forget that it'll be only
you and dad in the evening,
I'll be at an exhibition
with a friend.”

“Yeah, bye mom.”

His father knew it too but so
far Kenma still didn't know what
his dad actually thought.

He hadn't been angry but there had
surely been a hint of disappointment
in his eyes when Kenma had told
him with the help of his mother.

“Hey kitten.
How was your trip to the moon?”

“Huh?”

The pudding head tilted his head
in confusion when Kuroo only
smirked at him as he held out
his hand as always, waiting for
his boyfriend to take it.

“It seemed like you left planet
earth for a few days. No call,
no message, no hint that you
were actually still existing.
I got a little worried, you know?”

But when Kenma looked down
in shame and made an attempt to
let go of the older's hand, Kuroo
gently lifted his chin to place a
soft kiss on his boyfriend's lips.

“I really missed you, kitten.”

“I uhm… I'm sorry.
A few things have happened
and I.. Everything was a bit
too much for me. I didn't mean
to ignore you.”

The blonde muttered softly but
Kuroo's small smile never faltered.

And instead of a verbal reply,
he only pecked Kenma's lips again.

Truth to be told, Kuroo hadn't
been just a little worried.

Ever since Kenma had disappeared
on Friday without a single word,
the small blonde had constantly
been on his mind.

He hadn't even said goodbye to
the small fry from Karasuno,
Kuroo had asked him.

Nobody had actually seen him
after the small barbecue opening
speech, he had just vanished
from everyone's sight.
