In all honesty Kuroo hadn't
really known what to expect
when entering the hospital room.

Would Kenma lay in bed having
contractions just like these
braxton hicks contractions?

Or would he be in the middle
of pushing already?

If all the braxton hicks
contractions yesterday and the
past night had actually been early
labor, it wasn't that unrealistic that
he was already quite far into
the whole birthing process.

But Kuroo would've surely not
expected to find his small boyfriend
curled up on the hospital bed, his
cat plushie in his arms but his
focus on his Switch.

Some things just never changed.

“Kitten.”

Kenma almost dropped his Switch
at the sudden voice but immediately
placed it aside and made grabby
hands at the ravenette as
he teared up.

Maybe playing video games was
a more or less great distraction
from the situation but now that
Kuroo was here, it painfully
dawned on him that he was in
the middle of bringing their
mini human into the world.

And it hurt so much.

“Kuroo.”

The older boy was immediately
by his loved one's side, helping him
sit up so he could hug him properly.

A soft sniffle escaped the blonde as
he pressed his face against Tetsuro's
tummy and hugged his waist tightly,
warm tears soaking the older's
practice jacket.

“Shh, you're okay, kitten.”

But Kenma only shook his head
softly, nuzzling the older's tummy
like this as Kuroo gently ran his
fingers through his boyfriend's hair.

“Hurts so much..”

“I know.
You're doing so well.”

They were just empty words,
both knew it.

Kuroo had absolutely no idea
what his boyfriend was currently
going through just how Kenma
knew that the ravenette was just
trying his very best to comfort him.

And it worked, just having
Kuroo close to him, hearing his
voice and feeling his fingers in his
hair made the situation less scary.

“What did the doctor say?
Since when are you in labor?”

“Apparently since yesterday..”

“Since yesterday?
That means..”

“Yeah. The braxton hicks
contractions were real ones.”

“Oh kitten.”

Kenma whimpered when his
boyfriend peeled his hands off him
so he could kneel down in front
of him and cup the blonde's
cheeks carefully.

“I'm already five
centimeters dilated but..
It's not much considering that
I've been in labor for about
20 hours already.
I don't.. I don't know..
What if it takes too long?”
