“Sweetie, what's with that face, hm?”

Mrs Kozume asked softly as she
ran her hand over her son's head,
a frown on her face seeing Kenma
so lifeless with his head
resting on his desk.

His folders and books laid nearly
stacked beside him, telling his
mother that he had finished his
homework already despite hating
it so much so this definitely wasn't
the reason for his mood.

But Kenma only sighed as he closed
his eyes, hands subconsciously
moving to cup his baby bump.

“Kuroo's working.”

“Ah right,
he started his job, right?”

“Mhm..”

A soft smile found its way on his
mother's face when she realized
what was actually going on.

This side of her son still felt new
to her, this more affectionate
and clingy side.

But she understood it,
when she had been pregnant,
she had also always wanted
to be near her husband.

“Will he come over for dinner?”

“No, he has the late shift.”

“How about.. You bring him
some dinner after we ate?
If he's going to work so long,
he should eat properly.”

“Hm.. I don't want to annoy
him there. He has to work,
he doesn't have time for me.”

“He needs to eat something and
he'll surely have five minutes to
say hi to you and to thank you
for the food. That's much better
than moping around here.”

She chuckled and leaned over to
press a soft kiss on top of her son's
head when Kenma only hummed.

“Dinner's almost ready.”

Kuroo seemed busy.

He had started working as a waiter
in a small ramen shop two weeks ago,
determined to earn money for their
baby so they could start getting
all the stuff they'd need.

So far they only had the little cloth
set Kuroo's mother had given them
for his birthday and alone the
furniture would cost a lot.

There were many people in the
restaurant, enjoying the ramen
and smiling as they chatted while
Kuroo rushed from one table to
another, serving bowls of steaming
ramen and cleaning up the
tables with a smile.

But Kenma knew him well enough
to see how exhausted he was.

A long school day, practice
and now work.

All those responsibilities and Tetsuro
didn't want to leave anyone hanging.

The ravenette said something to a
guest before he disappeared to the
kitchen, making Kenma reconsider
his decision for a moment.
