It was exactly like Dr Sato had said.

The second trimester had been
the best one and new symptoms
had been waiting for Kenma
the moment he had entered
his last trimester.

There were a lot of things he
hated about this but his number
one hated symptom were definitely
the braxton hicks contractions.

Even if they were just
exercise contractions,
they were just so
uncomfortable.

“Kitten.”

Tetsuro frowned when his gaze
fell on his boyfriend who was
busy fighting another contraction
again instead of sorting the screws
like he had offered to do.

They were currently trying their
very best to set up the crib but
while Kuroo was kinda lost with
everything, Kenma couldn't really
concentrate because of the
stupid contractions.

“Hm?”

The blonde looked up at his
boyfriend for a brief moment before
he shut his eyes and scrunched up
his face, hand instinctively going to
his baby bump as he winced.

“Maybe you should lay down
for a bit, hm? You said you didn't
sleep well because of the
contractions, right?”

Kuroo sighed as he shuffled closer
and cupped the younger's cheek
while he placed his other hand
over Kenma's on his tummy.

Their baby wasn't really a big fan
of these stupid contractions either,
they'd always shift in discomfort
and then they wouldn't budge for
hours as if they were sulking.

“We need to get the crib done though.
Are you sure you can do that alone?”

Kenma answered with a tired
smile when the contraction was
finally over and leaned into the
warm touch of his boyfriend when
Kuroo caressed his cheek.

“I'm not sure but I'm very sure
that I'd like you to rest. I'll try to
finish the crib alone and if I get
stuck at some point, we'll continue
together when you're feeling
better, okay?”

But the blonde only sighed.

With the continuous progress
of his pregnancy he felt
continuously more useless too.

The past school week had already
tired him out so much that he had
often already fallen asleep while
waiting for Kuroo to finish practice.

On friday he had even ditched
practice to get home as fast as
possible just to sleep until his
mother had woken him
up for dinner.

And now he couldn't even find
the energy to set up his baby's crib,
even if it was the only productive
thing he had been supposed
to do today.

Well, he couldn't even sort the
screws according to the plan.

Kuroo hadn't allowed him to lift
the big, wooden parts or to
even fold the package.

“Come on, let's get you to bed,
little kitten. You're already doing
enough growing our mini human,
hm?”

The ravenette cooed when
Kenma didn't protest as he helped
him get up and over to his bed.
