Chapter 28: Escape

MY heart hammered when I heard a footstep outside. Someone was sneaking into the room. Nagkatinginan kami ni Clint for a second and raised our guns. Dali-dali siyang lumapit sa gilid ng pinto at ako ay naiwan naman dito.

I held my breath, tightly gripping my gun. I could hear my heart beat as silence engulfed this room.

I almost stop breathing when the door swung opened slowly, a figure stepped in with gun on his hand. Clint immediately aimed his head without pulling the trigger.

"Woah! It's me! It's me!" Ardeen shouted. " The most handsome creature in earth!"

Clint's eyes softened. Kinuha niya ang baril na nakatutok sa sintido ni Ardeen. "I'm sorry, baby! I thought it's an enemy," malambing na ani Clint at lumingkis kay Ardeen. "Do you wanna come with me after this?"

Ardeen ignored Clint and diverted his attention to me.

Mabilis akong lumapit sa gawi niya, sinuri kung may tama ba siya ng bala. "Are you okay?"

"Of course! I'm too handsome if I'm not okay," taas noong aniya.

Napangiwi ako sa sinabi ni Ardeen, anong connect ng pagmumukha niya sa kalagayan niya? Kahit kailan talaga, oo. Puro kagwapuhan na lang ang alam sabihin sa mundo.

I noticed Clint's expression became blank when Ardeen ignored her, but her hands are still clinging to Ardeen's arms. Ardeen take a quick glances at Clint's face, something was conncerning him.

What's the real score between them? Something is. . . off.

I shrugged the thought out of my mind. Hindi ako dapat nakikialam sa buhay nilang dalawa, wala ako sa posisyon.

Clint smiled at me when she noticed that I'm looking at her. She happily walked in my direction and cling to my left arm.

"He doesn't like me, don't you?" she whispered, smiling.

Napatigil ako sandali at napatitig sa mukha ni Clint. She's showing that she's happy and act like she's not affected by Ardeen's action but I can see through her eyes that she's been hurting.

Hindi ko alam ang isasagot sa tanong niya pero parang hindi naman umaasa ng sagot galing sa panig ko. Akma na sana akong magsasalita ng mapansin namin si Ardeen na sumisenyas na tumahimik at maging alerto.

He hides himself near the door clutching his gun and waits for the enemy. Clint and I exchanged gazes as we gripped tightly our pistol. We pressed our back against the wall and tryung to conceal our breathing.

The door flung open with a strong force, and two people stepped inside, surveying the room with deadly eyes. They didn't noticed us first but it's just a mere seconds.

We used that as an advantage and brought them down immediately. As blood splattered the room, Clint gave them a disgusted look and kicked the enemy's lifeless body.

"Fuck your life to hell, asshole!"

"We need to get out from here. They wil bomb this hotel," Ardeen calmly announced.

"What?! What will happen to those innocent people who's not involve here?! Kawawa naman sila."

"They left this hotel 2 hours ago."
