I get dressed in my room,getting ready for college.
I run down the stairs and check for my bentou on the counter. It was there.
I smile at Naoki,who was cleaning the dishes.
"Hey,thanks Naoki. What's for dinner tonight?"
He doesn't answer me,just keeps washing the dishes.
He's been acting strange ever since I confessed to him.
I'm guessing the silent treatment..?
Did I make him so uncomfortable that he doesn't want to speak to me anymore...?
"...hey...about last night....I'm sorry..."
He says nothing. Just grabs a towel and dries his hands off before brushing past me and up the stairs again.
Why was he ignoring me???
Asahi comes down the stairs and sees my expression.
"Everything okay?"
"...naoki's ignoring me...."
His brows raise.
"Still?"
I furrow my brows.
"You knew??"
He shrugs.
"Yeah? So?"
I grunt,leaning against the counter.
"Do you...think I made him uncomfortable by confessing to him?"
He blinks at me.
"You confessed to him? Like,your feelings?"
I nod.
He nods slowly.
"Okay...that makes much more sense now."
I furrow my brows.
"What do you mean??"
He goes to the dishes.
"Did Naoki not finish these?"
I growl.
"Forget that! Tell me what you mean!!"
He rolls his eyes,finishing the dishes.
"It means nothing bad. Him avoiding you isn't because he dislikes you. Quite the opposite actually."
What??
"That doesn't make sense..."
"Sure it does. You're just stupid." He shrugs.
I shove him and he glares at me.
"Naoki likes you back,you fucking imbecile. Can you not fucking tell??"
"Then why is he ignoring me?? Huh,genius??"
"Because,"
He leans in my face.
"Relationships aren't allowed in your school. He doesn't want to get you kicked out if they were to find out. So he's avoiding you because he wants to protect you. He'd be all over you if it wasn't for those damn college rules."
I look down. My watch beeps and lets me know I'm running late.
Whatever,I'll think about this later.
