The morning came slowly across Iowa, the sun had just came across the horizon shinning brightly across Iowa City and to Kate disliking right into her eyes making her flip to the other side to see Nika's sleeping face.
Kate smiled a little and moved her hand toward Nika's face slowly caressing Nika's cheek, she missed being back home; Kate didn't mind that it's been 5 days since she came home but it didn't mean she didn't miss Nika.
"Hey, cutie." Nika mumbled, her eyes were still closed as Kate removed her hand from Nika's cheek but Nika grabbed Kate's hand and placed it back.
"Leave it there, I missed this." Nika added again, Kate decided to move closer to Nika and continued to caress Nika's cheek.
The comfortable silence between the two fell in the room only the two of them. Together. It didn't matter that it was almost noon and most of the day passed, all that mattered was Kate and Nika.
"Good morning Nik." Kate whispered softly as Nika's eyes fluttered open, Nika gave Kate a warm smile.
"Morning my princess." Nika said moving closer to Kate falling into her strong arms that wrapped around Nika's waist, the two just stared at each other.
"I missed you a lot, I'm glad you're home." Nika added, Kate laughed a little at her girlfriend.
"You've said that a lot!" Kate said laughing more, Nika rolled her eyes playfully at her girlfriend.
"Because it's true! We've never been that long apart.." Nika says softly.
"Well, we have..." Kate trailed off getting another eye roll from her girlfriend.
"I meant since we've been dating!" Nika yells slapping Kate's arm as Kate tried her best to stop laughing.
"Ok, ok that's the longest we've been apart since we started dating.." Kate put her hands up surrendering to her girlfriend's remarks.
"But hey, it's game day!" Kate yells excitedly, Nika laughed seeing her girlfriend so excited.
"Kate you can't even play babe!" Nika says laughing, Kate stopped and tackled Nika rolling ontop of her. Nika on the other hand tried to wiggle out from underneath Kate but couldn't.
"Alright so this is new!" Nika says nervously as Kate leans down and placing her lips on Nika soft ones, Nika smiled into the kiss; she loved moments like these just the two of them being in love with each other.
