"Thunder rumbling, castles crumbling, I am trying to hold on. God knows that I tried, seeing the bright side but I'm not blind anymore."

(narrative)

The past 2 months for Kate has gone a lot worse for Kate. Yes, she has those thoughts before but always had the girls to text or call whenever she had those; so far she's been 2 weeks clean but she's been struggling badly with herself trying not to do it again.

Today was a prime example, Kate was trying to calm herself down after speaking to her family in Croatia and apparently her grandmother died who Kate was extremely close to; she died today and Kate never got to say goodbye to her.

Kate had been crying since 8 o'clock this morning and she's been having thoughts of SH again just because she feels sadness, anger, depression and all of the above things, it's noon in Iowa City and of course Kate thought the girls would probably not be in the dormitory so Kate layed in her bed crying her eyes out.

Kate's been contemplating to text one of the girls but she never did not wanting to disturb them with her own problems, Kate hasn't eaten either in about 1 1/2 days. Luckily enough, Nika was in the dorms due to her laziness in going out.

So, Nika went to check on Kate like she had done for the past 2 months, it's been routine for Nika to go to check on Kate and thank God she did today. Nika walked up to an unlocked front door and dark living room and kitchen area.

Nika thought someone had broken into Kate's room but probably assumed Kate forgot to lock the door.

"Kate!" Nika yelled loudly as I echoed throughout the dorm room and no response back, Nika decided to check Kate's bedroom to hear loud sobs in the room.

"Kate?" Nika said softly entering the room that was pitch black inside.

"What.." Kate mumbled softly before Nika made way to Kate's light switch flipping on the lights to see a crying Kate, Nika rushed over to Kate's bed quickly engulfing her in a tight hug.

"Shh, what's wrong?" Nika asked softly while Kate sobbing in her arms, Kate holding onto dear life.

"My grandma died today and I didn't get to say goodbye." Kate said between sobs with Nika face sadden looking down at poor Kate in her arms.

"Oh, Kate. I'm so sorry..." Nika said while Kate moved a little in Nika's arms trying to get comfortable, Nika layed back against Kate's bed and Kate snuggling into her crock of her neck.

The two just layed there in silence with Kate's sobs getting softer as her tears were running out for her to cry, Kate sniffled a bunch and wiping her nose with her sleeve.
