At Starr Rink this weekend, the Colgate Raiders open the 2013-14 season as they play the Michigan Wolverines hoping to continue their winning ways from a season ago. With 10:17 left in the first period, David McKenzie scored to make it 1-0 Colgate. With 8:41 left in the first period, Barry Tait scored to make it 2-0 Raiders. Alex Evin and Steve Racine matched zeros for the remainder of period number one so Colgate maintains their 2-0 lead heading to period number two. With 14:10 left in the second period, Zach Hyman scored to make it 2-1 Hamiltonians. With 7:08 left in the second period, JT Compher scored to tie the game 2-2. Evin and Racine matched zeros for the remainder of period number two so 2-2 remains our score heading to the third period. With 14:09 left in the third period, Gary Mitchell scored to make it 3-2 Hamiltonians. With 1:16 left in the third period, Steve Riggs scored to make it 4-2 Colgate! Alex Evin finished off the Wolverines and Colgate opens up the season with a 4-2 win! Colgate improved to 1-0-0 on the season!
