In the Real World:

Yui’s hand trembled as she turned the pages of The Universe of the Four Gods, her heart aching for Miaka. She had to find a way to help her friend—somehow, someway. The distance between them seemed so vast, yet the story in the book hinted at the path she needed to take.

"I can’t give up," Yui whispered, her voice soft but filled with resolve. "I know there’s a way. I’ll find a solution. Just wait, Miaka. I’m not letting you face this alone."

Yui paused, reading the words once more. "Perhaps I can connect with you. Somehow, I’ll find a way. Don’t worry, we’ll find Isuna together."

The pages turned slowly under her fingers, each word a bridge between her world and Miaka’s, her heart racing as she searched for a clue, a sign, something that would tell her what to do next.

"I’m with you, Miaka," Yui thought. "We’ll reunite, no matter what."

In the Book World (Konan):

Miaka and Tamahome walked through the busy streets of Konan, the parade still fresh in their minds. Miaka, still reeling from the events, tried to shake off the unsettling feeling of being lost, but she couldn’t ignore the nagging thoughts of her missing friends, especially Isuna. Where could she be?

Tamahome glanced at her and noticed her distracted demeanor. "Are you okay?" he asked, his tone softer than usual.

Miaka nodded but didn’t say anything. She still couldn’t shake the worry. "I’m fine, just thinking about where Yui and Isuna could be. This place is so strange."

"Don’t worry," Tamahome said, trying to comfort her. "We’ll figure it out."

They continued walking, but Miaka's attention was caught by the distant sounds of drums and flutes. Her eyes lit up as she spotted a large parade approaching—its colorful floats and the grand procession of the emperor’s celebration.

"Oh! A parade!" Miaka exclaimed, unable to contain her excitement. "Let’s go see it!"

Tamahome frowned slightly but didn’t stop her. "Miaka, be careful. The customs here are different."

But Miaka was already moving, her curiosity getting the better of her. She pushed through the crowd, eager to get closer. Tamahome, now with a sigh, followed behind, making sure she didn’t wander too far.

The crowd was thick, and Miaka’s excitement bubbled over as she moved closer to the center of the parade. Amidst the dazzling spectacle, Miaka’s eyes landed on a gold string tied to the back of a large royal float, which she instinctively reached for. Unaware of the cultural significance, she clumsily tugged on it, causing a hidden mechanism to trigger. The sound of a bell rang out, and the air suddenly grew tense.

The guards surrounding the emperor’s procession stopped in their tracks, their eyes narrowing as they immediately turned to Miaka. Before she could fully understand what had happened, several guards surrounded her, unsheathing their swords.

"What are you doing?!" one of the guards shouted, rushing toward her.

Tamahome’s instincts kicked in. Stepping forward, he placed himself between Miaka and the approaching guards. His gaze was sharp, and his voice cold as he spoke, "Stay back."

The guards hesitated, sensing something was off. But Tamahome was not just an ordinary man—he was a Suzaku Seven warrior, a force to be reckoned with.

One of the guards sneered. "Who do you think you are to block us? This is the emperor’s procession!"

Tamahome’s eyes narrowed. His forehead began to glow with a red katakana that read "demon", a symbol of his power as one of the Suzaku Seven. A dark aura surrounded him, sending a wave of energy that pushed back the guards who were now looking visibly uneasy. However, before any further conflict could ensue, a booming voice echoed from behind the guards.

"Stop!"

The emperor himself, flanked by his own guards, emerged from his royal carriage. His gaze was stern as he looked over the scene before him, his sharp eyes taking in the glowing Tamahome and the frightened Miaka. The emperor raised his hand, signaling the guards to lower their weapons.

"Who are you to cause such a disturbance?" the emperor demanded, his voice powerful, though tinged with curiosity.

Tamahome straightened, his aura still palpable as he faced the emperor. "I am Tamahome. And this girl, Miaka, did not mean any harm."

Miaka, still confused and trembling, stepped forward, her voice shaky. "I... I didn’t know it was wrong. I’m sorry. I just wanted to see the parade."

The emperor’s expression softened slightly, though he remained guarded. "The customs of Konan are not to be taken lightly. You’ve disrupted a sacred procession. For that, you must be punished."

Tamahome’s protective stance only grew stronger as he prepared to argue, but the emperor raised his hand again, silencing him.

"Take them to the prison," the emperor decreed coldly. "They will remain there until I decide what to do with them."

---

Miaka’s heart sank as she heard the emperor’s words. Prison? She looked at Tamahome, who met her gaze with a grim expression. "It’s not your fault," he said softly. "We’ll figure this out."

The guards, though hesitant, moved forward to seize Miaka and Tamahome. With no choice, they allowed themselves to be taken away. Miaka’s mind raced as they were escorted through the palace gates and down a long, winding hallway toward a dark, stone prison cell. The heavy door closed behind them with a loud, resounding thud.

They were alone in the cold, damp cell, the faint light from a small window barely illuminating the surroundings.

Miaka sat down on the stone bench, her shoulders slumped with defeat. "I didn’t mean to cause so much trouble," she muttered, her voice filled with frustration.

Tamahome, standing across from her, crossed his arms. "I know you didn’t. But we’re here now. And we’ll get out."

Miaka nodded, her heart still heavy with worry. She couldn’t shake the feeling that her friends—Yui and Isuna—were still out there, lost in this world. But she didn’t know how to reach them. As the weight of her situation set in, she could only hope that somehow, they would find a way to reunite.

And she couldn’t help but wonder if Yui was trying to reach her, even now.
