Day 2 of WM40.

The soft morning light spilled through the curtains of the hotel room, casting a warm glow over everything. My eyes fluttered open, and for a moment, I thought I had dreamed all of it—the electrifying roar of the crowd, Jey's victory in the ring, the pride I'd felt when his hand was raised in triumph. But the reality hit me quickly: the adrenaline had worn off, and now, it was my turn.

Today was my match.

I turned over to see Jey still sound asleep beside me, his chest rising and falling in slow, steady breaths.

His arm was draped across the pillow beside me, the same comforting presence that had helped me fall asleep last night.
The night had been quiet, a rare moment of peace before the storm of emotions and nerves hit me once again. I had been so focused on supporting Jey, on watching him live out his dream, that I hadn't given much thought to the fact that I was about to step into that same ring for the biggest match of my career.

And now, here I was, awake and overwhelmed.

I took a deep breath, but it didn't calm the flutter of nerves in my stomach.
This is it.
The Women's Championship match against Iyo, a battle that had been months in the making.
I had trained, prepared, and pushed myself to my limits for this moment, but nothing could quite prepare me for the overwhelming sense of fear and excitement that twisted in my gut.

I shifted slightly, careful not to wake Jey, and glanced at the clock. It was still early, but I knew I wouldn't be able to fall back asleep. The weight of the day was already starting to settle in, heavy and unrelenting.
My mind kept replaying everything—how I'd felt the first time I stepped into the ring, the first time I held a championship, and now... this. A chance to prove myself on the grandest stage of them all.

Just then, I felt a warm hand on my back, and I froze, not realizing Jey had woken up. He must have sensed my restlessness.

"Bae," his voice was groggy but full of concern, "you good?"

I let out a soft sigh, trying to hide the tension in my voice. "Just a little nervous," I admitted, my words barely above a whisper.

He shifted, his arm pulling me close as I snuggled against his chest, the steady beat of his heart a grounding presence I desperately needed.

"Hey," he murmured, his fingers gently running through my hair. "You've got this. I'm so proud of you, Amahle. You're gonna kill it out there."
