Twenty eight: Edward and Julia's Talk

One month later, Julia was lying with Zach as Calvin was gone hunting. Edward walked in and sat down. "What's wrong?"

"I don't know what to think about Bella anymore." He tells her as she looked at him. "I love her, well I thought I did till she started in about being turned. I guess I lost feelings."

Julia sighed as she looked at Zach. She knew she had to tell him about her past before she got with Calvin. "Edward, I never truly gave people a chance and it wasn't just because of Renee or those so called friends, but I had one boyfriend. He..." she took a deep breath in and sighed. "He was very very controlling. I wouldn't give in to him because I wanted my first time to be perfect and to be with someone that I love, if I gave someone a chance. He left after a week of dating." Julia looked at him. "Yes, Renee ruined that because of how Dad has been, but I can be stubborn. Look how long it took me and Calvin..."

"Now that is a lie." Edward cut her off. "You and Calvin were joined by the hip after meeting one another, but the more he learned you, the more he realized that you were a very fragile human, but now, you have gotten stronger." She smiled at him. "You're not the same girl you were when we all met you. You're not afraid, you let people in, but you are still the blunt person you became." He watched his sister in law carry Zach to his bed as Calvin listened to them.

"Edward, I have changed now. I'm a mother and a wife. Something I never thought I could do because...I never had a mother."  She tells him as she laid Zach down. "I haven't told Calvin, but I'm scared that I'm going to mess up."

Edward walked over to her and hugged her. "Julia, don't put yourself down." He tells his sister. "You are an amazing mom, wife and sister to me." She smiled a little. "Calvin is listening in right now and he heard you."

"You're an amazing mom. So stop it. You are not Renee and you are not Bella." He tells him. "I mean, Zach loves his mommy. I can tell he does because he is always wanting you. He cries while you are hunting or taking a shower. You are doing an amazing job and I will make sure you know that you are doing amazing."

"We all will." Edward tells her. "Renee may messed up in the mother department with you, but she missed out on an amazing woman and an amazing grandson."

Julia smiled at them. "How did I get so lucky to have a brother and a husband to reassure me."

"If the others were here, Rosalie would have smacked you."

Julia gave them a look causing the two men to laugh. Julia smiled as she walked over to her husband and kissed him. Edward smiled as he was happy to have his talks with Julia Cullen once again. His family will come first before any girl. If Bella isn't my mate, then she is out there somewhere and I will be waiting.
