Chapter Forty

I stared at her dumb founded as she glared at me with a smirk. My stomach started to turn and I felt like I wanted to throw up. I was in a relationship, fucking a ex-married man.

"I'm guessing your girlfriend Kelly didn't tell you uh?" She asked breaking the silence.

"You know Kelly too?" I asked shocked.

"Kelly was my maid of honor." Taj said.

I stood in the elevator wanting to scream my lungs out. Taj was Xavier's wife. Not only that but my bestfriend Kelly knew and decided to let that slip pass me. We walked out the elevator and across the lobby with Taj in silence. Just as we approached the exit, Taj stopped, pulling on my arms.

"Ain't that Kelly?" Taj said as we looked straight ahead; only to see Kelly and Shericka walking outside.

"Yea thats her. With her cousin Shericka." I informed her.

"I never heard of a Shericka. I only know about his mother and father, Monica, Mickey, Kelly, Jeremiah and Shanna." She said as we walked outside towards the parking lot.

"Shanna? How'd you no Shanna?" I asked as we hopped inside her husband's BMW.

"That should 't be the first question you wanna ask." Taj replied as we got inside the car and buckled up.

I took front seat while she started the car and headed over to the Cove Resturant over Malia's bridge. This was one outting I need to have.

"So how did you and Xavier meet?" I asked her.

"Um two years ago. I was finishing of my masters degree in English Language and he was finishing of his degree as well. I had a year left and so did he." She explained.

"So when did the dating process start?" I asked

"Shortly after I broke up with my boyfriend Edward. He and I were together for about 2 years. Xavier saw me like 2 weeks after I came out that relationship. He was charming, understanding and very generous towards me and I felt like it was probably fate because after I got cheated on here comes this man who is willing to wait." She explained. "So we dated for 2 months before I made in official. Shortly afterwards he started to become pushy and controlling. He wanted me to dress a certain way, he didn't want my parents sending me money and he wanted me home at a certain time." She continued.

"He became like that with me too." I said softly.

"Thats his ways. Shortly afterwards, he started telling me about him having to work to supply for himself so he began coming home late. Then one night, I decided to stay out with my friend Kathyln. She and I went to the bar called Merry Goes Around, we sat there drinking and laughing. While I was in there I saw this girl he claimed was his sister, but that wasn't the case, it was his sex buddy Shanna." She said disappointed as we got out the car.

"I thought Shanna was his hometown girlfriend who he grew up close with?" I asked.

"No, Shanna is actually his cousin. No one would say it because she got pregnant by him and killed the baby. Even after that, they sex until he left every term for school." She said causing me to froze. "Oh girl, please, things just getting starting come on." She said as we appoached the resturant door.

"Good Morning Welcome to Cove resturant, how many persons? The guy asked.

"Just two." Taj responded.

"Okay follow me this way." The gentleman said.

"Okay where was I?" Taj asked, resuming.

"Shanna being Xavier's cousin." I repeated confusingly.
