15. storm of confusion

Climbing up the stairs I made my way inside the convenience store followed by Heeseung. The bright light inside the store compared to the dark environment of the outside made me fix my view to adjust in the light. Heeseung on the other hand took one of the carts from the section leading me ahead.
"What do we need?" He asks as we roam through the raw product section. "Rice, eggs, bread, beef, pork, chicken, spices, vegetables, flour uhm this is all I can think of." I retorted, the guy nodded looking through the shelf as he began to pick up every necessity.
Walking away I also picked whatever I wanted in the store. It was less crowded inside due to the night. Spending time here for more than 30 minutes, we were finally done after discussing whatever we might require and getting them.
"Are you done? Let's pay for it." He asked, waiting for me to approve but my mind remained stuck as I roamed my eyes around again, pouting while thinking about anything I might have forgotten when suddenly something caught my eyes, arousing excitement in me.
"Wait a minute." I retorted without glancing at him before running away, Heeseung stared at me confused by my sudden rush. With a bright smile I grabbed the only thing that I found in store, holding onto it as if it is something precious. The smile on my face and the way I was acting made me look like a kid. Heeseung who has been witnessing everything soon heaved a sigh when he finally realised what I actually got.
"A watermelon? Seriously? It is not even the season of Haerin." He reminded me, causing a pout to appear on my lips as I looked at the watermelon that I was hugging now. Heeseung took a moment to think, his head tilted to the side before he closed his eyes exhaling.
"Let's take it." A bright smile appeared on my face when it was approved and with no wait, I ran forward towards the counter to pay for our groceries. Heeseung followed me from behind as we stood by the counter. The cashier, being a middle aged lady, smiled at me and I did the same.
Using the barcode reader she began to scan each and every item we bought. At last I gave the watermelon and finally we were done as the lady calculated the price before letting us know it so we could pay.
"It would be ninety thousand won." The lady spoke as Heeseung, who was about to give her his card to pay, stopped upon hearing the price. Frowning, he thought of something in his mind before facing the counter lady.
"I think you calculated wrong, it should be one hundred ten thousand won." He reminded me to also calculate the price myself and he was right. Looking at the lady we both waited for her to respond but instead she smiled, making Heeseung and I share a glance together before looking at her again.
"You both are the cutest couple I ever saw, so I am giving you a discount." Her words made my eyes widen. My jaw dropped as I looked at Heeseung who was also shocked but soon his surprise was replaced by a smug smile.
I stepped forward to clear her misunderstanding but was interrupted when Heeseung pulled me beside him by holding onto my arm which caused my already widened eyes to almost come out, making me forget what I was about to say.
"Thank you so much, miss." He bowed to her while I looked at him, stunned. Giving the lady in front of us a slight bow and a small smile we finally paid. Once we were done we left as the kind lady of the store was smiling at us, her eyes adoring our presence.
After we were finally out of the store, I quickly stood by the door of the car confronting Heeseung who raised his brow questioning my act by his gestures. Folding my hand over my chest, I leaned against the door looking at the guy who is currently hugging the brown paper bag of groceries.
"You know well, I am not your girlfriend." I snapped earning a shrug from him, he acted unbothered by my remark trying to act cool. "Not yet though." He added, making me smack my lips in irritation. I roll back my eyes.
"And what if I say never? I haven't accepted your confession yet and to be honest there is still nothing great I found in you to accept it." I lied, my ears were burning by the thought of his next reaction. I could see how his grip around the bag tightened which caused the bag to crumple.
His lips pressed together, closing the small gap between us he stared into my eyes. I was thankful that the bag in his hand prevented him from being too close to me which could become the reason for me losing my senses. His deep hot minty breath that hit my face made me numb as I tried to back off even though I knew the car behind couldn't help me much.
"You know what...." He paused taking a minute to scan every feature of my face that shined under moonlight that fell over my face. His dark eyes shimmered and the way his messy hair was falling over his forehead while being parted in the middle. He looked like an obsessed lover.
"The more you act hard to get it will make me more desperate to make you mine Kim....." His calm and reserved voice echoed through my ears, the last words of his ringing in my head like an alarm. I felt the goosebumps arising in me, making my legs wobble by how serious he seemed.
I was not sure why he was like this , why this all was happening and the most important fact...
Why has it been only for me?

Twisting the door knob I opened the door of our house before turning around to let Grandma enter first. Once she went inside my eyes met Heeseung causing me to quickly look away as I followed Grandma.
It has been like this after the incident last night, I found it hard to have a proper communication with him. Always avoiding his gaze and if by chance a conversation would start it didn't last longer than seconds.
"Finally, I am back again. Those white walls tortured me everyday." She exclaimed, causing a smile to appear on my face. Putting down all the bags from my hand on the coffee table followed by Heeseung, I quickly rushed to take her into her room.
"Let's go to your room, Grandma." I grabbed her arm to support her, leaving Heeseung alone in the living room.
"Sit here." I said, helping her to settle down. Heaving a sigh of relief, she gestured to me to sit down beside her and I did so.
"Do you feel better now?" I asked, earning a nod, her small eyes staring out the large window that showed the backyard. My gaze followed hers as we both sat there silently.
"Is there something going on between Heeseung and you, Haerin-ssi?" Her sudden question made me widen my eyes in surprise. Facing her, I became speechless not knowing how to answer her.
"No, there is nothing going on between us." I lied, she didn't react for a few seconds causing me to become more anxious than I already was. Suddenly a smile crept on her face before she faced me finally.
"You know well Haerin-ssi, that you are not good when it comes to lying. I know there is something going on between you two but...." She took a small pause, to caress my hair which felt gentle. I was still startled but didn't interrupt her, waiting for her to speak.
"It is better to talk it out instead of keeping it inside your mind. I am not saying that you need to do it now Haerin-ssi but the sooner you talk the better it is." Her words made me realise how right she was.
The way Heeseung and I have been tangled up in our emotions seems so weird. It seems like we know what is happening yet don't want to admit it, especially me.
I have been stuck between my own thoughts that I always seem to go back to finding flaws in everything Heeseung does rather than appreciating the little efforts of his which are more reflective. Therefore I have decided what to do now....
After going back to Seoul I am going to give my answer to him.
