19. it is a date

Kim Haerin

“A date? That is interesting.” Eunji excitedly exclaimed, making me slightly push her playfully. Putting on the face mask on my face, I leaned against the wash basin of her bathroom, resting my arms against my chest.

“This was definitely not what I wanted to hear from you.” I spoke with disinterest, darting my eyes on her as she was busy putting on the face mask on her face.

“So what did you expect to hear? Me screaming because you are going on a date or nagging at you for accepting his proposal?” She spoke, finally facing me. Pressing my lips together , I sighed realising how naive my thoughts actually are.

“To be honest Haerin, you are not a kid anymore. I know that you can differentiate well between what is wrong and what is right, so just forget about it and let everything depend on time.”

Her arms wrapped around my shoulder as we both walked out of her bathroom, towards her bedroom.

“I think you are right!” I agreed, flashing a smile to her before we both settled down on her bed.

“Good! So when is your date?” I frowned when she suddenly began to again talk about the topic we decided to close not just seconds ago. I saw her mischievously laughing after she saw my surprised reaction.

“Wow! That is great.” I sarcastically retorted, clapping as Eunji finally put herself together to ask me again.

“No but seriously, when is the date?” She wiggled her brows, taking an interest in the piece of information I gave her from yesterday. Pouting, I tried to remember what he told me exactly that day after I accepted his proposal.

“Tomorrow, at 10 am, I am going to meet him at Jung-Gu.” I nodded after confirming the information in my head.

“Did you tell Heeseung?” My eyes widened upon hearing that name as I snapped my head towards her direction looking at her with disbelief. She smiled slightly, realising how nonsense her question was.

“Why should I tell him? Do you want me dead or what, Eunji?” She shook her head, pressing her lips as she poked her inner cheeks.

“It just slipped out of my mouth girl, calm down!” Chuckling, she wrapped her arms around my shoulder before we both laid over her bed looking at the ceiling which was shining by the warm lights that were illuminating inside her room.

“Good luck to you for tomorrow! I hope nothing goes wrong.” She reassured me which I found kind of odd yet I remained calm, until we both found ourselves slightly drifting to a deep slumber.

Taking a deep breath I fixed my bangs which messed up due to the cold breeze blowing in the morning of November along with the brightness of the Sun that made me feel warm. Clenching onto my cardigan I looked around for the guy, who was supposed to meet me here.

Roaming my eyes all around the place for minutes I still wasn't able to find him. “Did I come earlier?” Mumbling to me I began to check my wrist watch but just as I was about to suddenly a pair of palms rested against my eyes, covering them.
