12. cry pretty

Third Person

With speedy steps while forehead creased, walking towards the lecture hall for the girl he has been waiting for all this time might be at. The irritation on his face was purely visible that made other students passing by him get scared as they quickly moved away to let the boy go first.

Once he was near the lecture hall, he entered and roamed his eyes around to find Haerin but instead her friend Eunji caught his eyes who was alone, which confused him. With heavy steps he rushed to where she was sitting while chatting with some of her classmates. His palm contacted the wooden desk which made a loud noise causing the girl to flinch in surprise.

"OH MY GOD HEESEUNG YOU SCARED ME!" She snapped, abruptly getting up to face the latter in front of her who just glared at her completely disappointed.

"Where is Haerin?" His voice was serious and calm but scarier at the same time. The whole class dropped in silence, witnessing the scene in front of them. "She is not picking up my phone, neither replied to my text. I told her to meet me at 10 am but it is already 12 am. Is she again hiding from me?"

It was visible that he was pissed and hurt at the same time. He waited for the girl like forever believing that she would show up anytime not until his patience couldn't control him anymore.

"Actually...." Eunji fiddled with her fingers struggling with the words which were not coming out of her mouth. The guy looked at her, the irritation and anger calmed a little when he saw her hesitating. "Haerin's grandmother got sick last night so she went to Daegu right at the moment. She must be there now."

"What?" He was puzzled, she was with him last night yet she didn't say anything about that. His eyes softened as the concern was visible in it. He sighed regretting all the nasty things he thought of her.

"Is her grandmother fine now?" He retorted, receiving a shrug from the girl. "I am not sure, she didn't call me back after the last call we had when she was taking the bus." He nodded, when suddenly he asked something that caught Eunji off guard as she found it unbelievable.

"Send me the address of the hospital where her grandmother is." Eunji's eyes widened, her mouth agap open not being able to believe it. "You are going to Daegu?" She asked and received a fast forward nod from him.

He was sure and persistent about his decision. He wasn't sure why he was doing that but he felt like Haerin needed someone. He knew she might be in a vulnerable state but yet she might be acting tough to not worry about others. He also noticed her behaviour and actions throughout the time.

"I sent it to you." Eunji said, to which he checked his phone before turning around to leave the class once he got what he wanted. "If Haerin calls you, don't let her know about it." He ordered her, quickly dashing out of the classroom as Eunji shook her head with a faint smile visible on her lips.

"He definitely fell harder."

Kim Haerin

"Your grandmother is out of danger now, hopefully the caretaker brought her on time." The doctor told me, a black file on his hand which he read. "So am I allowed to take her home?" The doctor quickly shook his head denying it on the spot.
