20. And its out

January 22 1990

Today was the American Music awards. It's being held at the Shrine Auditorium done at Jefferson Blvd later on today. Was I excited? Oh sure.

"Ya nervous?"

I stared at him.

He shrugged "it's okay to be nervous." Little fuck.

"You're not helping Prince."

"What? Look I'll be in the crowd being the loudest cheering you." He said smiling at me. He was referring to my performance. I was to perform Escapade tonight before we find out if  I won any of my nominations.  Actually thats a lie I find out if I won at least one nomination and then I go on stage and right after my performance I find out if I won the other nomination.

"You're teasing me."

"There's a possibility."

"I don't like when you tease me."

"Well thats the whole point of teasing you. It wouldn't be enjoyable if you did my love."

"Oh what about you Mr. Achievement award."

He smile dropped "That's not fair at all."

I laughed " We get to see a whole video talking about little ole you."

"What I say about that?"

"Hmm lemme think...when I do something to you...you can't do it to me." I said repeating his words said to me before. A million times. I can't help it like how come you get to slap my ass but I can't do it to you?

"You're petty."

"I know."

"I don't like it."

I mocked him "It wouldn't be enjoyable if you did my love."

He stuck his tongue out at me.

"...what if we go public tonight? At the awards."

You could see his eyes light up a bit. I love his eyes. His eyes are so mesmerizing.

"Seriously?"

"Uh huh. It'll be the perfect time, it's broadcasted live so everyone will able to know. Right then and there."

"You're serious about this."

"Why wait? We have a perfect opportunity to do it now."

I know I know, I said it would be pointless to announce our relationship when we both have tours coming up but honestly I don't think I can wait that long. Production for the movie hasn't even started yet if my math is correct here that premiere won't happen until the end of this year or the beginning or next year. We might as well just get it over with now. It's something that Prince really wants and its something I would love to do so why not just do it now?

"If you want to."

"I absolutely want to."

"Then it's settled! Diamond and Prince are going worldwide baby!"
