September 14th 1988

Today I was finally gonna be able to fill my house with my belongings. My parents came to help me sort things out which I was more than grateful for. My mother was in the kitchen putting dishes up for me. Majority of them she bought but hey I was grateful. My father was somewhere in the house doing whatever he does. I was outside watching the movers take stuff inside.

I saw two women walking towards the house. Two white women with blonde hair. One with short (the youngest one) and one with long hair (the oldest one)

"Hi darling!"

"Uh hi!"

"I was wondering if you knew who lived here." She sounded like one of those snobby rich people.

I opened my mouth but closed it debating if I should speak or not.

"Oh where are my manners my name is Lucille and this is my daughter Jacklyn...we live a few blocks down." She put her hand out so I could shake it and I waved at Jacklyn.

I looked back at the house and put one if my legs in front of the other  deciding to mess with them. They obviously had no idea who I was snd theres no way they expected a black person to live here so why not? "so yeah apparently its a famous singer."

Her eyes lit up "oh my goodness really?"

I nodded "yeah...she's even done a song with Rick James."

She looked at Jacklyn "well what's her name?"

"Diamond Monroe."

"I didn't know Marilyn had any children."

"Oh no she doesn't she's Lillian Davis's granddaughter."

"Really?" She said fascinated "what's her music?"

"She's the one who's always on the tv dancing." Jacklyn smirked obviously catching on. I winked at her and smiled.

"The black one? The one your father said sounded like a dancer name." Damn I got a stripper name?

"Oh why I must say it's exciting to have a superstar as our neighbor even if she if a person of color." She smiled.

I tilted my head up a little puzzled by her response.

She clapped her hands together "Well do you think you could introduce us? Where is she?" She asked peeking into the house.

"Right here."

They stared at me for a minute before realizing I was Diamond.

"You bought this house? Sweetheart this is a multimillion dollar house and you bought it?"

"We make a lot of money"

"Well how old are you?"

"19."

"Why thats a mighty young age for you to be moving in by yourself...I didn't move into my first home until I was about... 24."

I smiled "yeah but you weren't blessed with the life I live. Y'all have a nice day now!" I said waving and walking into the house to see what my parents were up to.
