"Okay okay you cocky son of a...let me hear you sing something" I sat on the stage watching Prince think of a song.

"IF i HaVE tO cRy To KeEp YoU-"

"Wrap it up nigga"

"What?" He looked at me like I interrupted a good singing moment. Im telling you right now it wasn't.

"Whatever that was...was painful" I rubbed my ears as if they were in pain. He pimp walked across the stage with the mic "shiet I don't know what you on but I could've been the next David Ruffin" The song he was singing that so off key was Ain't too proud to beg by The Temptations. It was quite ear shattering.

I stood up "youuu would've been laughed at especially if you going in singing like that. Did you snap a vocal cord? Baby It sounded painful" He walked to up to me pretending like he was gonna kick me "this is why I don't invite yo ass to my rehearsals"

"Ohhh booooo hoooooo" I popped a gummy worm in my mouth "plus you acting like I wasn't coming regardless you think Im in Germany just for this? Are you loosing it?"

He squinted at me "if I hear you pop on that candy again imma lose this mic in yo ass"

"Ouu kinky I always knew you was into that type of stuff" I joked with him and he rolled his eyes. At this point he was so use to my little jokey jokes they barely phased him.

Anyway since we time jumped heres a little recap today is May 24 1987. In February I attended the 29th Annual Grammy Awards at Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California where I performed a medley performance of What Have You Done For Me Lately and Nasty with Terry Lewis & Jimmy Jam. In March I accepted an award in a pre recorded video message taped in New York City during the filming of the Let's Wait Awhile video during the 4th Annual Black Gold Awards. I was also on the cover of Jet magazine which was pretty exciting may I add. On the 14 of March Diamonds, (ironic for my name) a duet between me & Herb Alpert was released by A&M. It peaked at #5 on Hot 100 Billboard. I did a few performances one in London and another in Tokyo. So far this month I've filmed the music video for The Pleasure Principle directed by Dominic Sena in L.A. the music video is set to release in June by MTV. The Pleasure Principle was also released as the 6th single from Control. It peaked at #14 on Hot 100 Billboard.

"I don't even understand where you get the snacks from you came in here empty handed when did you have the time to get those Lauren?"

I looked at the bag and back at him chewing awkwardly waiting until I swallowed to answer "see...what had happened was...an angel brought them to me...and was like...here girl I know you need it" I nodded dramatically

His face changed from curious to being over it. He shook his head and walked away I laughed at his reaction "where are you going" i said between laughs

"To find yo damn brain you must've left it back stage" he put his hand to his forehead while looking around

"Oh screw youuuuuuu" I laughed more.

I was only able to see two of Prince's shows in Germany before having to go back to California. Kj came with me he didn't have to but he thought it would be a good bonding moment for us which it was when I wasn't with Prince I was with my brother goofing off pretty much everywhere. I felt sad having to leave it was amazing to see Prince in his element like that he was so free it was almost mesmerizing. The main reason I needed to leave was work I feel like im always working, not that im complaining I enjoy it. Sometimes
