Promise Me

"Rona?"

Lea signalled to her PA to start the breifing. They're inside her van going to ABS for her guest taping at Magandang Buhay to promote her incoming comeback concert.

"Its now 8:10am, ready na po yung glam team sa dressing room nyo. 10am start nung taping, 12-1pm open sched po then, 2pm rehearsals with Sir Gerard. Pinapatanong po pala niya kung doon na kayo magl-lunch?"

"Pakisabi hindi na, let's eat while on on the road. Baka matraffic tayo eh, nakakahiya sa music team."

"Okay po. Umm.. Ms. Lea, do you want to review the program flow para mamaya?" Rona inquired her boss.

"Why? Any questions I need to be concerned with?"

"Hmm.. Wala naman po. Maliban lang sa possibility of Sir Aga joining you in some portion of the program. He might come later daw."

"Might?"

"Galing pa daw po kasi shooting, baka hindi makaaabot."

"Its fine. Okay na yan, atleast they decided to orient me now di ba."

Rona side-eyed her boss not missing the irritation on her tone. "Any particular topic, may sinabi ba sila?"

"Wala Ms. Lea, but I can raise it with them if you have in mind."

"No need. I'll just go with the flow."

"Ms. Lea andami nagtatanong, kung single pa din daw ba kayo ngayon?" asked Melai, the studio audience shreiking at the background.

"Yes single. I am single." she answered smiling.

"Bakit po Ms. Lea, wala ba kayong naging boyfriend sa states?"

"Suitors. Admirers madami. Oo. Pero boyfriend? Wala. Ewan ko. Hindi nila kaya schedule ko siguro." the crowd went crazy. "No kidding aside. I was very busy doing musicals, concerts, albums. So siguro hindi ko siya kaya ipasok sa buhay ko that time kasi priority ko talaga is singing. Gustong-gusto ko talaga kumanta."

Few more questions are asked and suddenly the topic she wished wont be mentioned has been dropped.

"Eh Ms. Lea, ano pong reaksiyon nyo na ikaw daw ang TOTGA ni Sir Aga. The one that got away." everyone was squeeling inside the studio.

She's contemplating if she will open it to the public or not. Words of Mr. M came into her mind about tickling the fans and this could be a great opportunity.

"I was in schock. Really, I was in shock. The team-- my team, decided to ask him to write a message for my 30th Anniversary concert, which was five year ago. And I was not informed about it, it was a surprise and I was shocked the moment it showed in the AVP. Actually mahaba yun, hindi lang nilagay lahat on screen."

"Ang haba ng hair mo Ms. Lea." said Melai

"Mahaba na hair ko that time, mas humaba pa siya. Umabot hanggang sa sahig. " more screams from the crowd were heard.

"Kinilig ka konti Ms. Lea? Syempre kinilig." asked Melai.

"Tee-hee Kinilig ano? " Lea nods in agreement. "Nakakakilig. I mean, I though it was very sweet, very well-written, very heartfelt."

"Oh my speaking of.. andito siyaaaa. Mr. Aga Muhlach! " said Jolina, motioning to Aga to join them.

Aga walking directly to Lea first and kissed her on the cheek. Everybody were screaming including the hosts. "Ah magandang tanghali po sa inyong lahat." he addressed to the audiences.

"Take a seat po Sir Aga. As we were saying, pinaguusapan namin yung love letter mo kay Ms. Lea." said Jolina.

"Oo nga eh. Actually, gusto ko na nga bawiin yun." the crowd cheered again. "Eh kasi andito na siya, palalampasin ko pa ba ulit?"

Lea is just smiling. This is Aga's forte, he knows how to tickle the fans with words.

"Ewan ko nga ba bakit hanggang ngayon hindi pa rin ako sinasagot nito." says Aga grinning.

"Bakit, tanong ka ba para sagutin ko, ha Aga?" the audience went crazy from their exchange.

Lea's voice cracked feeling her throat constricting, she can no longer finish the song. She stood up from her stool and signaled to his brother Gerard for a time-out.

"30-minute break. Thank you." he adressed to the music people managing the instruments.

Gerard followed her sister backstage and saw her seating on the couch AirPods on her ears. The moment she saw her brother. She took it off.

"Bigla ako nagutom, I asked Rona to get me something. Ikaw baka may gusto ka?"

Gerard just looked at her and sat across from her sister patiently waiting.

"What now?" ask Lea, irritated with her brother scrutinating gaze.

"I am waiting until you are ready to speak."

"Come on Gerard.. please.. not now."

Gerard stood up and decided to give her sister some quiet time.

They were now driving home after rehearsals. Gerard decided to take Lea home instead. There is something wrong with her sister and he feels bad about it.

"Ge- you think is it possible to remove Promise Me na lang sa line up ng songs?"

"Why? What's the problem, we can re-arrange if it does overdo you vocal. You want different key ba?"

"No. No. Its not about that. Can I tell you a secret?"

"Go ahead. Try me."

"That song Promise Me from my album Inspired, was actually dedicated for Aga. And, I am not sure if I can manage to sing that song with him sitting in the front row. "
