Dream Of Me

The look of surprise on Lea’s face immediately is replaced by one of hope and love.

It shines and radiates out at Aga with force.

“Yes,” Lea says on a rasp. She clears her throat, still attempting to catch her breath.

"Like…" Aga has to be sure. "Yes, you would mind?"

"No!" Lea amends quickly. "No, I wouldn’t mind. Yes, you can kiss me...if you’re sure, obviously."

Lea looks like she might cry.

All Aga wants to do is kiss her.

It’s all he has been thinking about for weeks. He has only just allowed himself to sink into that desire. He wants to kiss Lea and that’s just a fact of who he is.

Yes, he’s sure he wants to kiss Lea Salonga. The most peculiar sense of deja vu rises in him, like he has had this desire before many times.

So, Aga does.

Lea is glad that she had held off from kissing Aga sooner. It wouldn’t have been right. But this - this firm brush of Aga’s lips against hers...it is absolutely right. It is deliberate and slow, the way Aga’s hand comes up to cup her neck, fingers sure and gentle as they weave into her hair.

Lea shivers, allowing Aga to tilt her head, angling their lips more surely together.

This kiss is knowing and gentle and loving and perfect.

"Ayan tayo eh."

They both break from the kiss as Vice went in front of them.

"My goodness gracious Vice." Lea said.

"Ang usapan magpapahangin lang kayo. Bakit may palitan na ng hangin na nagaganap? Ano need ng CPR ang isa't-isa." Vice teased.

"Bakit parang nangyari na to dati? " Aga asked with some familiarity.

"Ay true papa Ags, siya naman ang may sakit that time." Vice squeeled.

Lea was just shaking her head from the embarassment. She can't believe she allowed it to happen.

--

Lea fumbles for her phone which she can hear buzzing on her bedside table.

Blearily, she glances at the screen before answering. “Ags,” she greets, eyes still closed. “It’s kinda late,” she mumbles.

“Will you go out with me? On a date?” Aga asks, the moment Lea picks up the phone.

Lea blinks, nearly dropping her phone. She’s more awake, suddenly.

"Lea?" Aga feels shy for the first time in a while. He feels shy because he feels like he’s asking out his high school crush. Or maybe because he’s asking the woman who had been his girlfriend out on a date.

“I – I think I’m allowed just, like, one moment to process that,” Lea says, voice coming out on an appealing rasp.

She can’t help the disbelieving laugh that escapes her.

Aga grins a little at the sound.

“You called me in the middle of the night to tell me that? To ask me out?” Lea can’t resist, because the love that rushes through her at that moment overwhelms her. “You’re so weird,” she murmurs affectionately, lovingly.

Aga’s laugh is light and Lea can practically hear his smile.

“Hindi ako makatulog,” Aga admits.

“Are you okay?” Lea asks quickly. “What’s wrong?”

Aga laughs at that a little bit – mostly because nothing feels wrong for the first time in a while.

He feels like he can breathe again and he feels like all he needs is to have Lea by his side. “Nothing’s wrong, Lea,” he says softly. “I promise.”

Lea swallows. “Ags,” she murmurs.

Aga hums in response.

“Ask me again,” she implores quietly.

The slow exhale she hears over the line only makes her grip her phone tighter.

“Lea Salonga,” Aga begins. “Will you go out with me on a date? An honest-to-God date?”

“I…yeah, of course I’ll go out with you,” Lea says, as if she’d decline that invitation. She yawns. “I mean, you kissed me, so. It makes sense.”

"Lea," he begins. “I’ve missed you,” he says, because it’s true and he wants Lea to know that.

“I just saw you,” Lea points out, though she keeps her voice playful.

“You know what I mean.” Aga sighs. “It’s weird, but I just...miss you.”

“I’m right here.”

“I know.”

Lea's breathing is slow and steady, almost like she’s falling back asleep. “I’ve missed you too,” Lea replies. “More than songs can express, probably.”

"Kasalanan mo to." Aga teased.

Lea giggled. Remembering their past conversation before the accident. Aga is slowly coming back.

"I'll make it up with you okay?" Lea teased back.

"Why does that sound so familiar?"

"Trust me Ags. We will get there. Now sleep. Dream of me." Lea whispered playfully.
