5 months later ,
Several months had passed since Rudransh had joined Yamini's company, and he quickly found his place within the team. The adjustment was seamless, not just because of his skills, but because of the undeniable coordination between him and Yamini. They worked well together, and the dynamic between them, though still professional, had evolved into something a bit more comfortable, a bit more personal. There was a subtle ease in their conversations, the kind that grew between people who understood each other in ways others couldn't quite grasp.
One afternoon, as they were wrapping up a meeting, Daksh, Rudransh's previous boss and best friend strolled into the office with a teasing smile by leaning against the doorframe.
Daksh : So, what's this I hear about you and Yamini becoming the office's new power couple ?
Daksh asked, his voice is light and mischievous.
Rudransh shot him a quick, amused glance before looking down at his laptop, trying to hide the faint smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
Rudransh : What are you talking about, Daksh ?
He replied by pretending to be aloof.
Daksh chuckled by crossing his arms.
Daksh : Oh, come on, don't act like you're not enjoying the extra attention. I've never seen you so... so 'alive' around anyone before. If I didn't know any better, I'd say I'm a little jealous of your growing friendship with our very own Yamini.
Yamini, who had been listening in on their exchange, smiled knowingly, but didn't say anything. She had heard Daksh tease Rudransh about his growing comfort in the office and his apparent connection with her, but she wasn't one to be caught up in workplace gossip.
Daksh : I think 'someone' here has a little crush.
Daksh continued with his grin widening as he looked at Rudransh.
Yamini raised an eyebrow, glancing at Rudransh before turning her attention back to Daksh.
Yamini : You're just trying to make him blush. He doesn't 'blush'. she said with a teasing smile.
Rudransh chuckled by shaking his head.
Rudransh : You're both terrible.
He said by trying to brush off the teasing. But the truth was, he had started to look forward to spending time with Yamini, whether it was at work or outside of it. There was something comforting about her presence, something that he hadn't realized he needed until now.
Just as Daksh opened his mouth to continue his teasing, Yamini's phone rang, pulling her attention away from the conversation. She quickly excused herself, stepping out of the room to take the call.
Rudransh watched her leave, and as the door clicked shut behind her, Daksh turned to him, his expression shifting from playful to serious. He'd known Rudransh for years, and while his best friend had always been good at hiding his emotions, Daksh could see through the cracks.
