The air in the restaurant was filled with soft chatter and the clinking of ceramicware. The quiet hum of background music seemed to fade away as Yamini and Rudransh sat across from each other, the tension between them palpable, yet laced with an unspoken sense of challenge. Rudransh had asked her a question that had shaken her resolve, and now the game had begun.
Yamini : Two weeks !
She had said, her voice is steady despite the storm brewing inside her.
Yamini : If you think you can make me fall in love with you that way in two weeks, then go ahead. But don't expect me to make it easy. But remember one thing rudransh , if at all i feel that sort of love for you , I'll never leave you in this lifetime. You know how much i'll get attached to people.
And that was it. The rules were set, and rudransh wasn't one to back down from a challenge. Yamini : didn't expect him to succeed. She wasn't even sure if she 'wanted' him to succeed. But there was something about Rudransh, something compelling, something that made her want to see how far he would go.
As she ate, savoring the flavors of her dish, she could feel his eyes on her. It wasn't a creepy stare or an intense gaze, but a quiet kind of admiration that made her feel... strange. She glanced up from her plate and caught his gaze. He wasn't eating, just watching her with an almost amused expression on his face.
Yamini raised an eyebrow, unable to hide her confusion.
Yamini : Why are you staring at me like that ?
She asked, her tone is teasing but slightly defensive.
Rudransh, without missing a beat, shrugged.
Rudransh : I'm just doing the same thing I've been doing since I met you. Watching.
He grinned, his eyes twinkling with love.
Yamini was momentarily caught off guard by his words. 'He's been watching me ?' She had assumed it was just her being paranoid, but his casual admission made her chuckle, albeit with a hint of self-consciousness.
Yamini : Don't be weird !
She said, trying to mask the small flutter of her heart at his straightforwardness. But despite her attempt to sound unaffected, a small smile tugged at her lips. She quickly took another bite of her food, hoping to hide her thoughts.
She finished her meal, setting her fork down and glancing at her phone.
Yamini : I need to make a call.
